In Cutter and Tyleet - Posted Apr 28, 2024
Yeah I agree with Maggie, I think she looks like she is terrified. It kind of reminds me of the comment Cutter makes, that Ember was a little tougher maybe than Tyleet
In Venka and Tyleet - Posted Feb 06, 2024
I really wish we saw more of their friendship in the comics. I feel like Venka's cubhood was pushed to the side for the sake of Tyleet's, which is a damn shame. I really dig this. Venka looks like she is off on an adventure, scouting for treasure.
In Cutter's Dream - Posted Feb 01, 2024
It is very atmospheric. And sad. My thought was that this is a Kings era dream, not quite a nightmare but a sad dream where their hands once again touch with joy as he waits
In Modern(ish) Ember - Posted Jan 28, 2024
This is so cool! Love the light lineart on the black background. Yes, a thousand times yes, Ember needs abs!
In Songjoy...or Something - Posted Jan 07, 2024
As annoying as he is being, he is gorgeous! Yeah, sometimes they do that. show up and decides to live rentfree in your brain. Enjoy the ride while you can is my advice.
In The Bone Woman's Prayers by Odin Strand - Posted Jan 07, 2024
Thank you guys! While I love Elfquest, the way that they treated the Shaman characters were not the best to say the least. The Bomewoman in particular seems more like a politician clinging to her power than a medium between the spiritual world and ours. Since her name is Bonewoman, I assume she uses bones in some way, not just as fashion choice XD so I looked into what cultures use bones, and found that in the Americas there are tribes that lay deer scapula on fire, and use a drum. I was thinking of adding some symbols to the drum, but was afraid that it would be aproperiation.

Originally I was going to have her teaching her craft to a younger member of her tribe, reskinned after my first idea of Old Magotty teaching Trinket. However we never saw The Bonewoman interact with any kids, so I was bordering on worldpooling. So instead I made a few changes to my imagery. The biggest issue I had working on this was the damn size adjustments. For some reason it gave me so much trouble, lol. Thank you again Maggie for letting me participate, looking forward to the next few years =D
In Not Drawn to Scale by Katrina Joyner - Posted Jan 07, 2024
The biggest surprise of this year! Haha, the poor little birdies do not seem impressed with Petalwing's singing voice. I also dig the wintery imagery! Perfect end of the calendar.
In Losing the Flight by Czarine - Posted Jan 07, 2024
Oh Voll. Seeing you share your work and process is the delight of the year. The way the years are so heavy on him, is just. Chef's kiss. The heartbreak on his face and oh, I just. Love this.
In A Full Life by Treefox - Posted Jan 07, 2024
Love seeing some wolf action! Nightrunner was a great wolf, so much personality, enjoying his twilight years in the forest where he belonged.  The leaves and the sun is gorgeous. It really adds to the fall imagery. It is also great use of perspective, with the background, the wolf and even some branches in the foreground.
In Vintage by Maggie Atkinson - Posted Jan 07, 2024
Ah, I adore it! The way she is posing, she almost look like a fisherman bragging about her catch, showing the best bush, it is so great =D I also just now noticed the little eyes looking at her, looks like hey want the best vintage too! I also like the light you've used.
In Embracing the Future by Amberfox - Posted Jan 07, 2024
Ah, this is lovely. You and hair indeed, it is amazing. Love the framing, showing his future. But my favorite thing is the shades of blue and green. You're right, Salt has a lot of different designs, huh?
In Lessons in Patience by Saree - Posted Jan 01, 2024
The details and colors in this! Wow! I adore how Ember is poking at Savah, as Maggie says, I don't think we saw those two interact much, but they must have. Love the bemused grin and the sandal absolutely killed me! Amazing work Saree!
In Under a New Sun by Treefox - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Yeah, I think that was why they made their clothes like that, easier to draw. Love the joy on their faces, and seeing them interact with their new environment is amazing. I never thought about it, but Amberfox is right, they are often depicted as stoic. I also love the contrast with the foilage and the Palace. It gives a real science fiction vibe that is super cool
In A Fruitful Future by Veronica Lacquement - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Holy shit the perspective! You pulled it off amazingly. Must be amazing to have a Glider picking those high hanging fruits for you, huh? Speaking of, just looking at that fruit is making me hungry for some. Too bad it's winter.
In Sleep Now, Pups by Swev - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Love the way you've used light, like both Amberfox and Maggie says, it is ethereal. My favorite part is actually Timmain's feet tangling in her hair. It is just so cute, which is not a term I usually use for her.
In Spring Day by Wintergreen - Posted Jan 01, 2024
There is such a nice, quiet mood in this. Love the interaction between her and the deer. They are having such a calm, peaceful time together. Almost retrospective.  I am particularly drawn to the background, the way it slopes, it is very effective. Wonderful work! =D
In Storyteller by Christoph Schilling - Posted Jan 01, 2024
The way you use light is amazing. The light dancing around Nonna and Adar, the interactions between the children, the wee Cutter on the wolf! It is so great! I love that they are telling thestory to future generations, teaching them about their history.

Whata beautiful cover!
In Amberfox - Posted Apr 18, 2023
Ayoah!=D  Amberfox! Long time no see! You've done your boy nice, I especially like the brownish pinks in his hair. He always has but right now he is REALLY reminded me of the 70-80's rock artists.
In Crouch - Posted Feb 12, 2023
Thanks guys! =D Yeah the brown paper really shines through. Some of the spots are from dousing it in hairspray, works great at fixing oil pastels. I guess it intimidates me to use markers on brown paper, it sometimes really soaks up the pigment, but this worked really well. Too bad I only discovered it here at the end
