a portrait about Tomi! those black lines are from a D&D character Sheet I happened to have. (if that bothers someone, I can always erase them) I just wanted to create Tomi there as well, the picture came out fairly well, I think... I had a game that used these sheets with Luna lately, I bet She'll add her picture of Terra here soon too!...

Interesting, very Japanese in design, and he looks very serious.  He also appears crosseyed.  Was that intentional?  I'm not sure what black lines you're referring to; I don't see anything other than the lines you used around his face, which I think only highlight the character and draw your attention to the face.  Great to see more work from you, Berit!

yes, he looks sort of Asian, we rarely see elves that look like that, so I wanted to give it a try... haha! no! he isn't really cross-eyed! I just messed things up! but he has odd eyes, he has very little shine to them. and the black lines, I was talking about those... what do you call them in English? borders? those straight black lines around the portrait...

Hmmm...how odd and annoying.  I had posted a reply but it appears to have been made roadkill on the superinformation highway.  Anyway, yes, those lines are border lines and I don't think they are distracting or bothersome.  I think tghey effectively frame the portrait, as the lines are intended to, although sometimes they just don't compliment the image as they should.  In this case, however, I think they work just fine.  And I've actually drawn several characters that were specifically designed as Asian in appearance for various EQ fans.  Those illos are pretty old, though, so I'm not sure if I want to brave posting them.  As for his eyes, every artist that's honest has drawn characters at some point that were crosseyed, but then again, maybe Tomi is just really focused on something very close up to him!

Oh? I haven't noticed others drawing Asian elves at all! I wonder why... knowing me, I've been in the wrong place the wrong time!... well, there goes the originality for this one, but I'll still keep him as he is... I still like his design... and I draw cross eyed characters all the time! it's hard to fix that when drawing with markers or ballpoint pens...

Very true, and that's why I think you're more patient than I am with using ink to start with.  And there's no reason to bother changing him anyway; he's still an original!

I like the frame! To me it makes this look a little bit like this would be a passport picture that he didn't really want to but had to take!
