Another drawing of Tomi, wielding his two trustworthy, sharp friends... from my EQ characters. Tomi is probably the best fighter...

Nice friends!  I really like this one of Tomi; it's at once a portrait AND action-y.  Again, a very serious sort of guy, and very expressive in the face.  I'm still concerned about his hands, however.  They somehow seem a little off, but then again, I'm not exactly the one to talk to about hands.

Haha! yeah, my Anatomy is always off, but I don't really mind that... drawing should be fun, and when I think about the rules and all stuff like that, it stops being fun for me... I'm a free bird, that way!... and those knives are the only things Tomi trusts completely... and yeah, I should draw more action drawings again, I like drawing them, but usually when I draw, they tend to get too violent for others... I think fighting should always look a bit brutal...

Well, fighting and war IS brutal - I agree with you.  I personally have no trouble with the imagery; it's a part of and a fact of life.  Plus, action images are always very eye catching, and it is a nice offset to all the romantic and portrait illos.

I also think that having something in the illo a little off makes it more interesting.  Of course, it's also a lot of fun for a viewer to watch an artist's progression with skill.  Well, it is for me, anyway.

I'm sort of tired hearing about my art being too violent, so I have downplayed it a lot... but what can I say? I'm originally horror artist (believe it or not)... so somewhat brutal images are closer to my heart than romance... (never been into mushy stuff, actually)... heh! atleast those things that are a bit off add a small comical value to drawings, if nothing else!...

Never been into the mushy stuff myself, either.  I'm much more an action-adventure sort.  Again, I'm not bothered by violence as long as it's not the only thing represented.

I too, think that if there is violence on a picture, it has to have a reason behind it... gore for the sake of gore is actually very dull...

I love it when great minds think alike!
