In Cutter and Tyleet - Posted Apr 08, 2024
That looks very dynamic. And a bit anime-style. Both seem to have a lot of fun rushing through the world of leaves.

Haven't I not yet commented here, have I?
Oh, well.
These are two intense renditions of her, though differences aren't that big; one seems more crisp and maybe "real" than the one that is drenched in an aura of sunshine, which is more ethereal.
In any case it is a very good depiction of "the desert flower", with the red/green contrast. And a cute little animal. It was mentioned somewhere that she had a good couple of pets, but that might have been Ahnshen's story or something in NewBlood?
And I think you got her eyes very "alive".

Squeeeeeee!
I must congratulate myself to look by today and check "unseen images" (they usually are a few hundred, as I hardly get to all of them). However, it was one more than "usual". Then I spotted this intense colour set and knew before reading the title.
*glompses screen*

This is a very intense and vibrant image! Vibrant by colours, but also by expression. The brightly shining star. ^^ Awww!
You go the eyes so good.
And there are so many items and hints. Traditional outfit and pattern on the headband, Ekuar-ish elements, crystal shards, black snake, the inner cape features symbols that could be either Sunvillage or Go-Back style, the spear is part Sorrow's End part modern-could-be-forged-by-TwoEdge. Well, and this fiery background.
And it is good to see him happy, ascending, looking forward here.
It does partially look like done with oil crayons. This should be an art-print.
(By the way, this also coincides (?) with February's "challenge coin". I didn't really get the concept of these coins but anyway, the totally late one featured Rayek, also.)
This would also make a good background on a pivot-screen 90° rotated. Well, or on a normal screen. This aspiring atmosphere looks motivating to me.

Nice to see also some human characters in the collection, telling the stories of the forest- and mountain-spirits in the fireshine. And they do have a little riding straw Cutter. That is some cheerful child down at the bottom! I also like the skin painting with the Gilders.
In Spring Day by Wintergreen - Posted Jan 02, 2024
I recognize the style. The scenery looks like a northern country. ;) Quite calm, early spring showing first sprouts while there are still patches of snow. A journey for introverts, just you and the animal outsides in nature in the fresh air.
The metal spiky horn-tips make is subtly dangerous, though. The noisy textures give it the appearance of an older photo.
In Sleep Now, Pups by Swev - Posted Jan 02, 2024
It's impressive how well few colour tones sometimes can work. Lilac, blue and grey, maybe a faint hint of green in the blue. The moonshine gives it a magical appearance and adds the necessary light. And it seems like she's guarding the pack with all the whelps, even while she's asleep. The leaves give it a nice frame and act a bit like a half-opened veil through which we are watching the scene.
In A Fruitful Future by Veronica Lacquement - Posted Jan 02, 2024
Ah the benefits of levitation / gliding :) . Just float up and pick what you desire or what you want to bring you dear ones. That is light-hearted scene with an unusual perspectice; with puppies and preserves and light/shadow-patterns in the forest and some intense orange-yellow-coloured fruits that even outshine the colourful preservers.
In Under a New Sun by Treefox - Posted Jan 02, 2024
It's good to see Toorah and Suntoucher being drawn. He seems to be literally touching the rainbowish light that was comes from the prismatic crystal tip. They both seem to be "seeing" the same, just with different visions. And they both impress the observer as the well-acquainted mutually affectionate couple that they are.
Toorah's dress fits in nicely with the crystal houses, while his dress (with less scales to draw ;) ) mirrors the more blueish crystals.
In Lessons in Patience by Saree - Posted Jan 02, 2024
Ah, well, the spolied one of Cutter's young ones is at it, again; climbing on every elevation and being full of energy - just while there is a deep-focus-training going on. But it seems she can manage that and handle it with all her ages-long experience. Those are some vivid colours and it is a blithe and comforting scene.
In Embracing the Future by Amberfox - Posted Jan 02, 2024
This is a nice idea to use his merman form as a frame for the inner image, which also contrasts the cool sea tones with its palace-style warmer shine. Long hair underwater, especially along with a flexible merman-tail seems to be something very versatile, too. :) Also the palace-dwelling form is reaching a little out of the frame with one hand, as well as Spray's foot. Looks like they could step out of it any moment.
In Vintage by Maggie Atkinson - Posted Jan 02, 2024
That must be some vintage brew, indeed. It seems to be full of magic. An interesting mixture of darker and brighter parts in the image. And she looks pretty satisfied with her Dreamberry brew. I wonder who the little beings could be that only show their eyes from shady corners.
In The Bone Woman's Prayers by Odin Strand - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Interesting, a rare character and also the technique looks a little like crayons or something, something that could also have been used in ancient times for wall-paintings.
In A Full Life by Treefox - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Can a wolf look accomplished? I guess so, when I observe this image. Wonderfully framed by autumn mood (like in one of your photos ;-) ) and this possibly being a hint for the autumn of life?
The image does have a good emotional impact.
In Losing the Flight by Czarine - Posted Jan 01, 2024
That is a very interesting one. A moment of emotion, a moment of realization caught in image, done in few tones. Lots of detail (decoration on the fabrics, carvings in the pillars) and great line-work. And the semi-transparent ghostly close-up makes the scene more intense.
In Not Drawn to Scale by Katrina Joyner - Posted Jan 01, 2024
Aww, the poor birds! The image makes a pretty cold impression, with Petalwing being the warmest impression. I wonder what this is with the candles on its hat; is that a specific tradition?
In mermayJulyYeeeLilypad - Posted Jul 27, 2023
That's a nicely round wave and it fits the sun and its glow. And very dynamic, the two seem to have fun like... fish in the water? Wait, make that sea-mammals in the water?
Ah, and that reminds me to visit the local lake...
In 21st Festival of Brush and Colours by jaRf - Posted Mar 12, 2023
Thanks! Yes, only Pike could pull that off. And Rayek just, um, offered himself to pose with that oh-so-pretty attitude. ;)
In Rayek and Winnowill have a child - Posted Feb 06, 2023
*squeee* So cute! I hardly ever thought Winnie might look that nice. A very comforting and harmonic image. Good for my start in the day, it sweetened it!
In 21st Festival of Brush and Colours by jaRf - Posted Feb 05, 2023
Thank you kindly. Well, in her case it is a mixture between pondering and just needing a place to put the brush while she's working with a different one. Yes, it is quite a lot of brushes and other things in this image ... ;-)
In Victory by Startear - Posted Jan 02, 2023
I wonder what hidden moment this might have been. I'm uncertain if to read it as a positive scene (lost and found) or rather a gloomy one; dark and cold. Kahvi sometimes can be no fun at all... (at least I guess it might be Kahvi approaching).
