I know what you mean with struggling to draw humanoid creatures. I think it's hard to get the proportions right first, especially when one uses an unsual perspective. And then translate to Elfquest proportions. The next difficulty for me is the face. Especially when it is fanart and you want the character to be recognizable. Well, and fingers and hands or feet aren't easy either, though it depends on perspective. I guess the only help is to keep practising and looking how others do it or to look at photos for a reference.
