I found a scanner! YAY!...

so here we have it, I wasn't sure if I should draw a zwoot or a Sabertooth, so I decided to draw both! lineart was made with a black ballpoint pen, so I could not use the eraser, (the sabertooth looks a bit odd because of few mistakes)... and I colored this with four wood color pencils I happened to have with me at the moment, and no reference used when making this, I was in class the time I did this... I hope I remembered the animals correctly!...

(z)woot! Awesome picture to start out the challenge. :D

That is one brave (or crazy) sabertooth.

Great action shot! And again, without references, you rock.
I think the zwoot would've otherwise had his shoulders higher, they have an awkward built actually. It might look too much like a horse now, though the feet and head tell otherwise.
Great fury in it's eyes though, I'm not sure yet who'll win this fight.

maybe the sabertooth is so hungry, that it attacks everything to get a meal? power of desperation!...

you're right Afke! now that I borrowed some EQ books from te library, the zwoot's anatomy resembles horse a bit too much... well! I must train more!...

Wow, that was a fast first entry! Well, considering you did this without reference the anatomy is pretty amazing. Might be a bit too horse-ish, but the face says "Zwoooot". The dynamics are great! How the Zwoot whirls around and the dust... I guess the sabertooth must be hungry indeed.

Well done!  I think this looks great!  (I noticed the same thing that Afke did, which is that the zwoots should be more hump-shouldered, which I imagine would translate in a weird way to viewing one from this angle.)  I particularly think the expression on the zwoot's face is very evocative.

thanks! yeah, now that Afke mentioned it, it's true, but I admit that I probably wouldn't be able to draw zwoot anatomy from this angle and pose with my current skills now that I think about it... and I personally like the head of the zwoot most!...

I like this piece, and your work in general. I think the Zwoot is a bit off, but other than that it is awesome.

This is a really great picture! I think the body of the cat is kind of short for that position. It feels like the body should be stretched out a bit more in that leap... I agree with basically what's been said already regarding the zwoot. Oh, I love the fierceness in both creatures, and the background fits so well with the subjects of the piece!

thank you! I agree with you, the body of the saber-tooth looks too stiff, because of that, it sort of resembles the body of a bulldog! it's way too short!...
