writing farewells...

Marut, like he should be in winter, bearded and more hairy. he suddenly feels the call of the wilderness, he writes down his farewells as Terra still sleeps, for he never liked saying goodbye... he knows that Terra might get upset, but this time, he at least managed to write that he needs to go... he easily forgets things like that when the urge to venture strikes...

Aw, so sad. Nice of him to leave a note. Does he miss Terra on his travels?
It's interesting that elves in the Terra-verse can write! I love how you can see a glimpse of the snowy landscape that is calling to Marut. |

Thank you both! and about writing, well not all of them can write, only the five-fingered elves (though Cade cannot do so) and humans can write...

I like it how cold the colours look. Terra will be so angry when she wakes up! You should draw more bearded Marut!

I'm planning to draw him more... I've been more interested in drawing hairy fellas since our Skyrim RPG!...

Well, I've been in so many holts over the years and I know many of them had one character that could write or use a form of written language, although few really went into that. What I found interesting was if there was only one or two elves that could write, wouldn't that mean only one or two elves could READ? Either way, I bet Terra will be very angry with him when she wakes up; I imagine this is what preceeds the illo you did a while back of Terra grabbing ahold of Marut, lips extended in an awaiting kiss while she tells him, "Love you, kill you!"

Yes, n out "verse" it is like that, only few can write, and only few can read... Fivefingered elves learned it from humans, and they are more human like than other elves, they cannot send, so they learned to leave messages for others... Terra and Laluna can read too, because they were raised by humans...

Hm, I thought they were raised by Strongbow and Moonshade with help from others in the Wolfriders from some of the artwork I've seen from you guys. Still, writing seems a bit natural when you need to record something. It may not be something like our current writing, but maybe like hieroglyphics or cuneiform. I don't see a problem with the concept at all.

Oh they were! they spend most of their childhood with the wolfriders, but before they were even teenagers, they fell from a cliff, luckily, friendly humans found them and raised them from there... the sisters returned to the Holt as adults... and it was a shock for them to hear about Madcoil and how many of those who lived then, were not with them anymore, the news of Rain's death was the hardest news to hear for them... and they only met young Dart as they were adults, so it was odd for them to learn they had a little brother...
