Oaktale - Expecting Perfection

Oaktale, my very sensible slingshot archer and budding treeshaper from Twin Peaks Holt. She finally pushed the other elves out of the way and demanded attention. This particular elf is a very earthy individual - from the colours she wears and her budding treeshaping powers to having her feet planted firmly on the ground with a no-nonsense attitude. She also caries a love for old-fashioned traditional wood-carving...
Unfortunately she's also quite the perfectionist so it doesn't look like the goat will make the cut. Only the best for the baby.
Who's by now 10, so this happened a little while ago.

The expression is spot on! I like the slightly yellow-brown tones you mixed into her skin. seems to reflect the tones of her pretty pregnancy dress so well.
Actually, I also like the little wooden goat! If I were her, I would keep it.  Maybe her left arm is a little too thin? |

I think the little goat is just precious! But that is often the problem for any artists, isn't it? When we produce something, we are often comparing it to the vision we have of it in our head, and it doesn't match up. To outside eyes, though, what we produce works just fine.

Don`t know why, but this is just stunning (motherly feelings because all people around be get pregnant lately??). The pose and her critical look are just adorable. And the littel goat looks really like made of wood.
