Dancing Rayek

An art trade. This was a long, long project.
The pose, shading, tones, what to do with the bg. Everything had issues, I started over at least three times.

An extraordinary theme! I like the dynamic pose and how the flowing fabric adds to the movement. I would've added a bit more space around Rayek; now it makes me think he's discomforted while dancing (though it might suit his situation here!). I think the simple gradient background works here, since there's so much to look at already. (heh)

Oh wow, how elegant and flowing is this? This is really a very extraordinary pic of Rayek! I think he would muster the elegance to become a great dancer easily. It really suits him!

Aww, look who is sexy and nice! What a flowing movement! One would wonder what he's thinking, because of his glance backwards...
Sorrow's End villagers are truly lucky to have him among them. ;)

I hope the person you drew this for really enjoys it. Despite the issues you had completing this, the final results is amazing. The pose is indeed dynamic and really draws the eye in of the viewer. While you kept the background simple, I love that you included the shadow, which is quite effective in adding movement to the entire image. I do think the sheer cloth would cast a shadow as well, although much lighter. Nitpicking, as it doesn't distract one bit from the illo. I wonder if Rayek's glancing back is to make sure all eyes are upon him. I suspect he wouldn't be so dramatic without an audience.
