Oh, how good it looks in the end! Great job! I love the way she akt like an animal in some parts. The blue panel seemed to took ages to color... It's brilliant with the white Pictures in it. And all the fur! Nice coloring of him.
I love it!

Thank you so much! Really, this whole page did take me ages to draw.... And the coloring of the blue panel especially! Thank you for noticing.
It is all done on one A3 page. Slight after effects with Gimp. Everything else is done with water colors and copic markers.

Oh my... this is my favorite story in the entire ElfQuest saga. It is so beautifully written, and the conflict is so painful. But real. And this artwork? It really does the story justice. Love how you kept the scene in the winter. The trees especially. Her startled look when Timmorn asks her "who are you" is priceless. Though, I would be too in her situation. But what I love most is how you altered her outfit. While Wendy's design looked like it was scruffy, it also looked odd. Yours Look warm but not so much that she'll sweat too much (a big health hazzard in winter) and still usable. I also love how Rahnee seems both curious, full of wonder but still afraid in the fourth panel. And might I add that the coloring of Timmorn's right arm is gorgeous?

Your best piece yet!

So glad that you like my interpretation of the story. I simplified it a lot.
And thanks for noticing the outfit change. I wanted to make it fit for winter usage. I actually also wanted to give her gloves, but then I also wanted to draw her slightly claw-like hands, so I scrapped the gloves.
While hard to do at first, I actually enjoyed drawing Timmorn. His design is hard to grasp, I think.

Certainly looks like a lot of work! Timmorn and Rahnee as well both seem to jump out of the background with their amazing colors. It's just beautifully balanced.

I think the oranges and blues together really set the whole page off. Really nice contrast. It is a fine illustration that looks like it should have it's place in a book. I especially like the palace depiciton.
I think this year's calendar theme has been very interesting to look at. So many different stories...

Happy to hear you two like it. I had so many ideas for this calendar theme, but I decided to do characters I had never done. Wanted to have some challenge. Got more of that than I has asked for.  ::) Coloring this was my favorite part, as usual. So glad that the colors come through.

The blue panel blows me away! It makes me think of fairytale illustrations, like the Snow Queen, perhaps. The colours are just beautiful, and I'm glad to see traditional art!

You could have made those two characters sitting looking into the sun for 5 panels and I would have loved it.

I was so pleased to find that you had decided to work with Timmorn and Rahnee. I love EQ but I don't have as much "love" for the everyday characters as some people do. Don't get me wrong I like Cutter and his gang but I really adore the old stories of past Chiefs and I find that not many artists gravitate toward those characters.

So for me this was like a sparkly little gem, so pretty and unique and just the right piece of artwork to end the year.
