Species: Come Dance with Me

It has been said my work has symbolism to it.  Well, this is almost exclusively symbolic.

Bear with my silliness. A while back at work, I had the bizarre thought of what an elf would look like when based on some of the microbes I work with. So, enter Pestalotia and Finegoldia. Pestalotia is a fungus that typically infects fruits but can cause infections in humans, Finegoldia is a bacterium nearly ubiquitous on human skin but can also cause infection. Pestalotia's hair reflects the shades of brown of the conidia, her red outfit the strawberries the fungus usually causes blight on and the purple the bruising it causes before rot, her green eyes the vegetative topping on strawberries, the yellow the seeds on strawberries (my parrot used to love to scrape off before dropping the rest of the strawberry), her skin reflecting early summer. Her hair is up in two ponytails because Pestalotia conidia have two or more antenna-like projections from one end.  Finegoldia's hair is silver-white as the colonies when grown on blood agar, the red gems on his jewelry mimic the blood agar in a petri dish, the blue tunic is the color colonies appear under the microscope when stained with phenol blue, the yellow...well, come on, his name IS FineGOLDia!

Not sure what holt or environment they come from, but for more symbolism, maybe they're originally Sun Villagers now residing in the Palace, since both microbes are fairly ubiquitous under normal conditions, but when under different conditions, they become something entirely different.  How's that for symbolism?!

I received a message that the illo can't be seen if one is logged in, but can be if NOT logged in.  Anyone else having this problem?  I can see it just fine, but anyone else?  I will try and reupload it as soon as I get the chance.

I can see it just fine. Sometimes the image is too big, and for some reason, it won't load for others but will for some.

It's visible for me, too. I don't know if there are any tags or options that might influence visibility?
Their dance is so lightweight it seems like they are flying. :)

I really should've done a background, but I'm afraid I got lazy.  I'll eventually get inspired and add a background.  As for the visibility, I have been told it was an error on the part of the person that alerted me, so no problem.

How refreshing to see other art in between all these recent uploads.

I absolutely love the silliness of this. I think, you cought them brilliant in their elf form (from the description you gave here for I didn't find an acceptable pic of Pestalotia and Finegoldia). Is it possible, you draw both microbes in the corner of this to catch the similarity better?
The two antennas give me quiet a laugh. What a good choice to make two ponytales to symbolism them. What does the last paragraph mean? They change form under different conditions?
Now my head starts spinning about - what do this or that things look like elves? What do this plant, that marine animal (underwater snail) or this crystals look like as an elf?

I like that they are dancing and the coloring and drawing is beautiful. The shading of the clothes is very nice. It looks so soft I wanna touch it.

(Yaay, I can comment now! :) )
The movement looks great. And I had to grin while reading your description. Here is one dedicated biologist (?) at work!

Oh my, bacteria- and fungus-elves, what an idea, lol! The dancing fringes on the bacteria elf and the hair are very well done.
