Sorry to hear you've been a little depresesd, Berit; I sincerely hope this helps cheer you up.
I read that Terra has a thing for little bunnies and Marut likes to see others happy, so, this is the idea that came to me. I know I didn't quite get the hair right, but I'll do so in the future - promise! Luna, I didn't have a CIS for Terra but I tried to work from the illos I've seen of her from you and Berit: big, round eyes; round face; something dangling from the hem of her tunic; and curls, curls, curls!
Again, hope I didn't mess them up!

wow! thank you! this is simple awesome! it certainly made my day a lot better, seeing this here!... I really like the lines in this picture, must've taken some time to draw them all! and I think you nailed Terra's outfit! it looks a lot better than it does in any of my drawings! so cool!... hey, I still don't know what character I should draw for you, now that you made this absolutely stunning picture!... if you wish for someone certain, I'll totally try drawing him/her!...

Ayoooooah Berit! I'm really very glad you like it; I had fun drawing it. What took me the longest on this illo was Terra's pose; I had almost given up when it dawned on me what to do. The next was Marut's hair. I could never get it to look right and no matter what I did, it STILL doesn't look right. Ah well, next time. As for the trees, it's pretty easy. I take a narrow diameter ballpoint pen and layout the length of the tree and go back in and stipple a semi-dry permanent marker slightly offset on each side, getting longer for the branches as I go down.

It's an idea I got watching a painter one day.
As for who to draw of my elves; don't worry about it. I drew this because I wanted to! I'd love to see what you do with any of mine, but I'm not worried if you don't get the chance to get around to it. Again, I wanted to draw this. I had fun and was challenged. |

Treefox, I know, I've been quiet for some time. In November, I was SCUBA diving off Bon Aire in the Caribbean. Sadly, having to pass through the Atlanta airport, I also picked up a raging case of bronchitis so I was sick 12 hours after arriving (didn't let it stop me from diving or enjoying myself!). I also arrived at the tail end of a hurricane, so when I made my first shore exit, I had a strong high wave knock my legs out from under me and I badly sprained my wrist trying to brace for the impact on the rocks. It's taken me a long time for the bronchitis and I'm still having to wear a brace on my wrist.

Then came the holidays and the evil lab dictators at work giving me an extremely hard time ever since. I have some art that I wasn't able to finish before my trip and I've been considering posting some of it as WIPs. Gotta dig through my old stuff to see what I won't be embarrassed to post...

Whew! Thank you for posting, Luna! I wasn't sure what you might think about it. One day I might get around to coloring this - then you can talk about the hair!
Again, if you feel especially interested in drawing any one of my characters, please feel free, but I really wanted to draw this so do not feel obligated. I would, however, feel honored if you did draw anyone of my elves. |
