Return the Conquering Hero October 31, 2010, 04:42:28 PM 49504 10
Sorry to hear you've been a little depresesd, Berit; I sincerely hope this helps cheer you up.

I read that Terra has a thing for little bunnies and Marut likes to see others happy, so, this is the idea that came to me. I know I didn't quite get the hair right, but I'll do so in the future - promise! Luna, I didn't have a CIS for Terra but I tried to work from the illos I've seen of her from you and Berit: big, round eyes; round face; something dangling from the hem of her tunic; and curls, curls, curls!

Again, hope I didn't mess them up!
Our Holt #8: Cade Armot August 08, 2016, 04:49:09 AM 7914 5
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I also wanted to draw characters that haven't had a lot of time in the spotlight, for the most part. As always, the scanner just doesn't do the colors justice, but at least you can get an idea of what I was going for. I already have about a dozen characters drawn, but I intend to color them all instead of inking them. Takes longer, but I just felt like trying to do it. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. This one gave me even more grief than Mangrove. Cade Armot, Berit's bear blooded sinister PC, has lived up to his reputation. Because the scanner did such a HIDEOUS job on him, I redid the skin tone six times before I got it to a point I was willing to post it. I'm not sure I did the dark skin around his eyes correctly, and if I didn't, let me know, Berit, and I'll correct it. Also wasn't sure about the clothing color scheme, and I took it completely on myself, so if there are any issues, it's all my fault. If it isn't right, maybe this is a previous outfit or one he uses briefly later. Yeah, let's go with that!
Our Holt #10: Timid September 05, 2016, 11:02:33 AM 7412 3
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. So, sorry that this has taken me a while to post, but returning to my mundane life and work put me behind. Plus, the hair took me a while to do because I had to blend several colors. Either way, here is BlueEyedMe's Timid. Again, I'm at my mother's briefly, so I hope what I upload looks better than it does on her monitor (trust me, it looks abysmal), but if not, I'll scan it on my own scanner when I get home tomorrow. I haven't seen Timid's figure or outfit, so I just kept my illo as a large portrait. I tried to keep her skin, lips, and cheeks pale as BlueEyedMe did; it looks perfect on the original, but again, scanners are aggressively anti-colored pencils.
Our Holt #7: Mangrove August 06, 2016, 04:08:16 AM 6168 2
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. This is Mangrove, Saree's punk sea elf. This one really gave me a lot of grief. I didn't have olive, so I had to create it on my own. I kept finding issues with the sketch, and the scanner corrupted until I finally got it to work. Do I even have to say anything about scanner and color? Argh. Anyway, Saree, I haven't forgotten (almost, I'm sorry to say, but didn't!), and will be posting more soon.
Our Holt #9: Dyara August 09, 2016, 07:39:15 AM 6080 4
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. Here is Dyara's Dyara. The rock didn't come out well, but I'm not too worried about that, I was more worried about her. The colors are okay, but nothing compares to the original. I take full responsibility for the clothing coloration; Dyara never posted what they were or depicted them so I just came up with something. She seems a huntress/warrior, so I imagine something flashy is reserved for celebrations. Sorry if I'm WAY off, Dyara!

I just now realize that her hair looks red. I assure you that's not what it looks like on the original! I used a light brown with a hint of red, medium brown, and a wheat yellow, so why it looks so red...Scanners.  I swear.
Gideonwise and Bill (Disney Villians) October 12, 2014, 03:04:17 AM 5108 6
Tee-hee, it's m'face!

Yes, it's Gideonwise and his former ally, the isosceles monster himself, Bill Cipher. I just couldn't resist. Skywise and Gideon Gleeful are a perfect match: they're both obsessed with females (Gideon with just Mabel, Skywise less exclusive), that fluffy, gravity defying (no pun intended) silver-white hair, both always wear blue (although Gideon's choice of polyester leisure suit is a poor substitute for a good leather tunic), both are fixated on space (Skywise on the stars, Gideon on the portal), both are highly charismatic and can gather a wide following...you get the idea. I'm a massive fan of Lil' Gideon and Bill Cipher is the best damn animated villain ever!
BEHOLD! (Disney Villian) October 12, 2014, 02:25:39 AM 3920 6
BEHOLD!

Do you like it, Viewer the Viewerpus? I call it the CANNONACCEPTERINATOR! It turns any character from any source into an accepted Pini cannon character. With this I can create an unstoppable army and take over the Tri-Holt area!
At the Doctor's Office April 28, 2014, 02:30:10 AM 3588 4
This is what happens when you're stuck for two hours at a doctor's office with a pen and piece of paper. There's been a call for more freestyle art, and I said I'd post more pencil/pen work, so here it is. I think this was done back in December or November. Anyway, no elf in particular, just bored and had the means, motive, and opportunity.
Our Holt #11: Timberlaky October 30, 2016, 12:57:16 AM 3025 1
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. I know I've been absent with these for a while, but I'm still not entirely back on track after a difficult summer. Anyway, here is Timberlaky's Timberlaky. I made a bit of a mistake with the fletching on her arrows. I wanted to give her a bit of color and thought why not fletch from a parrot? My own squawkbox is bright green with blue and red so I thought that might work, but it wound up looking like strange mini pine trees. Sorry about that. Hope she looks okay otherwise!
Amberfox and Marut Dancing (Tripping) May 04, 2016, 01:51:16 PM 2320 8
Here is the accepted challenge of my colors to Berit's original black and white illo. I actually finished this a couple weeks ago, but I've been struggling to find a scanner that'll really work well with my colors. At some point, I'm aiming to have my brother give it a go, but that will have to wait a couple more weeks. I'm disappointed with how the colors scanned because Marut's skin tone is PERFECT, almost luminescent...but, that scanner. I need to learn how to use copic markers. Anyway, every single thing here I used at the least three different colors, which is why it took a while for me to complete. And Berit, if need be, I'll be happy to physically mail you the original because this scanner did not do it justice (acceptable, but not a winner). Hope you approve!

And that final surprise I'm still working on.
Our Holt#5: Blackberry July 31, 2016, 04:58:24 AM 2308 6
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. I'm featuring Startear's Blackberry, and I hope I captured her look correctly. I wanted to retain a lovely, large, and in charge look for her, very simple and plain but effective. As far as I'm concerned, this lady looks like she could accomplish whatever she set out to do. I have a limited amount of color pencils to work with while I'm out of town, so I wasn't able to achieve the right brown for her pants, but I think I managed. I hope I flattered her; my mother really dislikes this illo, but then she thinks the elves have heads that are out of proportion.
Our Holt#4: Tananek July 29, 2016, 11:59:04 PM 2237 3
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. Here is Nilla's Tananek, inspecting the final product of his efforts. Blah, blah, blah, scanner ate the colors...anyway, hope the lower half looks like shaggy fur, which I believe is what they're supposed to be. I went for brighter colors on the decorations on his horns and tail because I thought it might compliment him by standing out more.
Our Holt #6: Changestone August 03, 2016, 02:43:54 AM 2182 8
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. This one took me twice as long as the others. Why? The hair! My hand started cramping coloring each curl with five different colors. Naturally, I'm disappointed with the way it turned out online, but that's because the computer/scanner can't pick up the light applications I use for pale shading. And the yellow was really eaten up. Ah well. the original is a stunner, I promise. Anyway, Changestone inspecting new rock strata that she's never seen before, so she's "feeling" its mineral sources and composition.
Haze and Farbright March 06, 2012, 01:51:23 PM 2126 6
Slightly darker, richer toned filler piece I did for the Elfquest calendar 2014. I wasn't sure which one Windrider used or which one looks better, so I'm posting them both. Farbright and Haze are Recognized lifemates in the Wavedancers, and we're introduced to them already killed by humans. The rumor is these two are the parents of Brill and Krill, at least last I heard.  I'm not sure the tail turned out okay; it seemed a mauve-pink-red-violet sort of concoction, so I thought I'd try and use the colors as flecks and spots that you see naturally in fish. Anyway, here they are.
Our Holt#3: Grandfather Itzamna July 29, 2016, 02:05:32 AM 2095 3
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I also wanted to draw characters that haven't had a lot of time in the spotlight, for the most part. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. Up now is Robi's High One Grandfather Itzamna from Three Holts Alliance. Grandfather is a title in Stone Tower, a faction of Three Holts Alliance, which is the equivalent of chief or lord. He is one of the founders and since they live in the desert, much like the Anasazi, he's developed a tan. I didn't have a reference for his clothes, so I hope I didn't screw that up completely, but since he's so noble and serene, I thought a desert sand robe would work best.
Mature Bowki March 23, 2012, 11:53:54 AM 2031 5
I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or not. I had originally done this for the calendar, but there was a misunderstanding somewhere and the full calendar of the younger Bowki was used as filler (grid) art. So, if I'm not to use this, let me know and I'll take it down ASAP. The art used in the 2014 calendar was Bowki as a young adult, maybe in his 20s; I thought it would be a smoother transition from seeing him as a cub to a young adult, and then this. This is what I envisioned Bowki to look like much older. I know he's been drawn as a true Sun Villager at heart, but I just couldn't see that myself. Looking at Blair's 3 illos, he seems to relish Wolfrider activities. So, I saw him being a hunter and maybe later a protector for the Sun Village, joining the Jackwolf riders. Perhaps after many turns he goes off on adventures of his own with a breakaway Jackwolf rider group. I just couldn't see him being completely agrarian or giving up riding a canine or handling a weapon. I hope you're not disappointed, Foxeye, as this is Daddy!
Sandy March 23, 2012, 03:51:20 PM 2023 6
For Berit for being brave enough to post pen sketches, I thought I'd step up and do the same. This is a quick pen sketch I made a while back during a slow day at work. I sort of have two bosses and this is the elfin (and far more attractive) version of one of them. Bear in mind, Sandy is 67, well weathered, and not in the best of health. Either way, this is just something I did to relax myself.
Our Holt - 1:  Vytha July 27, 2016, 12:40:08 AM 2009 5
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. Up first is Nightsea's character Vytha, the AU daughter of Winnowill and Lord Voll. Wish I'd remembered Elftanner had drawn her before as I think she did a better job on the outfit. Ah well, maybe this is her summer, around-the-holt outfit. Lovely lady, and I'm surprised she hasn't been drawn more.
Our Holt#2: Zantorr July 28, 2016, 01:21:39 AM 1961 3
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. Meanwhile, here is PC #2, my High One Zantorr. Do I even need to say the scanner ate the colors? He normally is very serene and calm, but every now and then, I'm sure he's happy and shows it.
Preypacer Filler Art March 06, 2012, 05:04:39 PM 1902 2
Preypacer for filler or grid art for the Elfquest calendar. Looked better inked than colored, darn it. Anyway, this is the darker copy; if it looks bad enough on other computers, I'll take this down and post the lighter version. Frankly, Ceruleanblue did a better job drawing him than I did...
Silverbow November 20, 2009, 07:37:06 AM 934
My character, and a golden oldie in terms of how long he's been around (although this is a newer illo of him). He was in a couple of holts over the years, but now he's orphaned as well as being roleplay gamed (Outseeker wouldn't let it be any other way - that's his very expressive and enthusiastic Recognized lifemate) among friends.
Evolution: Origin of Life On Land May 19, 2019, 11:43:04 AM 569 5
Another illo that didn't want to upload properly. Surprise illo I did for Berit. Berit has posted illos of various characters as merelves, so I thought, why not Marut? This is what I came up with. His hair is wet but slowly drying to stand up. Laluna observing in the background, ubiquitous oblivious bunny just out of reach.
Berit! Berit! BERIT!! May 09, 2019, 10:31:12 PM 539 5
Idea came to me and sketched it out 5/8, shaded it in 5/9, uploaded it 5/10, so this is brand new. I sent a large and rather expensive envelope stuffed with oodles of goodies for Berit, but sadly, things were not going well for Berit and he was offline for a while. Thankfully, it arrived safely. This was my way of trying to get Berit's attention, plus, this was fun to draw.

This illo includes Marut reading the mailbox the riot act, Cade ready to smash it with glee, Rustle in fox form pulling the post down, and Tomi ready to slice and dice the damn thing. There are aspects that are so wrong/off with this, but I had so much fun drawing it. Poor Tomi's foot was cut off as I ran out of room on the paper, but he just launched himself into the air to really get some power behind his sword. There was some pencil work that didn't scan through, but I can try and darken it and scan it again.

I'm sure we've all been in this same situation, whether it be physical or electronic. At least, my mother's mailbox can attest to that. Enjoy everyone!
Deloris May 18, 2019, 10:17:08 AM 514 3
Quick sketch I did of Berit's Deloris (Rustle) that I included in his recent letter (along with the sketch of Quartzpelt). I think the colors mostly survived scanning...and I think she's scheming from her expression...
Marut May 19, 2019, 08:15:54 AM 489 3
Wow. This was difficult to post; it kept wanted to post sideways no matter what I did to it. Anyway, close up of Marut's face from a full page illo I've been working on for ages. Don't know if I'll ever finish it, but here's a close up of it.
Our Holt #15: Kayel May 01, 2019, 04:08:32 PM 436 7
Gone native? Well, not entirely...
Here is my attempt at Kayel. The color is not as vibrant and clean as the original, but do I even have to say it anymore? This guy is seriously a study in browns. I hope he looks okay. And seriously, I am so done with trying to color sandstone, or whatever stone is common in Sorrow's End. Kayel, Neve, Lilac, and Truelife are actually rather new illos; I sketched them only about a couple weeks ago. And I can't imagine any GoBack completely going native in the Sun Village. thus this particular image.
Quartzpelt May 18, 2019, 12:43:50 PM 402 4
A quick sketch I did of young Quartzpelt from Berit's Our Wolfpack. I think she looks happy because her brother Fargaze isn't around. She's one of the wolves I got to name for Berit (Fargaze, too).
Blackheart April 28, 2019, 01:10:29 AM 392 4
More golden oldies. This is my Blackheart from the old roleplay games I used to master and she's been in a couple of holts over the many turns (currently orphaned). She is a chieftain in our games, and no matter where she is, she's mischievous, clever, and always up for a fight and a roll in the furs. A really fun character. I miss our old gaming...
Runedance, the Brute April 24, 2020, 03:23:52 AM 378 4
Sorry for the delay, work has severely been in the way. "Quick" drawing of my RPG character Runedance, referred to as a brute by Berit's Mehadrin. This is his usual attire and attitude. I am working on his winter garb, but I wanted to go ahead and post this. I'm also working on a color version, hopefully, I'll be posting both soon.
Our Holt #17: Marek November 15, 2019, 01:53:21 AM 376 4
Up now is MenderFanForest's Marek. I can attest Marek is indeed shy; he simply did NOT want to be drawn or colored. I think this is the fourth or fifth attempt at drawing him; trust me, the other sketches were just too bad to even finish. Coloring didn't go any better. Still, I tried and I hope I did him some justice.
