i completely re-created Cutter's famous sword, New Moon, complete with removable hidden key-and-peg, out of house-hold supplies! i only used the following materials:
recycled cardboard (from ordering EQ stuff from eBay, lol),
packing tape,
Aluminum-Foil tape (i HIGHLY recommend this stuff for any cheap art-project needing a shiny metal-look),
and for coloring the sheath i used a blue Sharpie and almost a whole bottle of clear-top-coat nail polish.

Really nice done! Do you make it just for fun or for costplay?
How did you make the Key? What's in the round Top? And the blade have a realistic 3D shape?
Do you have Pic of the making?

i made it just for fun! it started out as making simple cardboard swords to play with my daughter, but i couldn't stand just having a plain boring sword, so i spent about 6 hours (or more) making New Moon for myself! and yes, i do still sword fight with my daughter with it, and it has survived every battle! the key is a single layer of cardboard that i cut in the appropriate shape, then covered in Aluminum-Foil Tape (i LOVE that stuff!!). the pommel is MANY MANY metallic candy wrappers (cleaned after the candy was removed) rolled into a ball for the base, then once again covered with the Aluminum-Foil Tape after the key section was added. the blade is completely 3D, and i do have pictures of it before i added the Aluminum Foil Tape. i'll post one or two of those as well. also, i just finished (but haven't gotten pictures of yet) making a Wolf Head Helmet from the battle for the Palace, and i'll be posting pictures of that as soon as i get some good ones! :)
