Oh, very interesting. Is this just something that came to you or are you planning another AU? Interesting to see what these four would be up to, especially considering their backgrounds!

Fun scene, and one I imagine happened frequently. Beyond really looks bored, and ready to reach down and smack them. Isn't it annoying when you're trying to get some sleep and someone just HAS to invade your space and be noisy? I'm with you, Beyond. It must also be hard for him to not be causing trouble or chaos. Sha definitely has ideas to entertain him. It may not be rest, but go ahead and give in, Beyond! Somehow, I'm mesmerized by his hand...
In Yionyi School doodle - Posted Aug 26, 2025
Ooo, yes, Yionyi looks very haunted in this. Wonder what has him so frightened. He does look like he's behind bars. Been sinnin' again, hm? Love the color work on this, even if it is a quick sketch.

I third the cuteness factor! Love the fawns are so engaged in Nixa's story, all three seem to be in on a wonderful tale. Actually, developing puppets to tell stories makes sense with the GoBacks. I mean, on those ridiculously icy nights around the fire, surely stories would be told. I also do not think that the right side looks smudged. If you hadn't said anything, I'm sure I wouldn't have even thought to scrutinize an edge. I've always said I'm a fan of pencilwork; there's just something about it that's so endearing. Love the idea of this and your sELF being a puppeteer for GoBack fawns.
In Treefox tries to draw a chicken - Posted Aug 25, 2025
Woodbee would be (sorry) so overwhelmed by that and never want to leave! On that note, I've finally inked and cleaned up "Jailbreak!" and am about to start coloring. Almost finished inking Songjoy. So, new art from me to follow as well!

Yea! Even though just a quick scribble, it's very good and more importantly, FUN! I imagine Treefox would be busy trying to draw these strange new adorable fluffballs. Chickens would be a great benefit to the wolves in the pack considering they like to peck parasites from their fur. And hurray for drawing lessons and inspiration!

A young, Cutter bathed in moonslight? Count me in! Nicely done with the mood/atmosphere, the play with shadow and light. Cutter seems very ethereal here, a bit brooding, hesitate, yet somehow come hither. Hey, no need to ask me twice! Great job!

Love them while you have them. Mine died some years ago and I miss her terribly. She was feisty and full of life despite such a hard childhood. My mother and everyone on her side of the family were German, so we called all the relatives by their German term and the American relatives by the English terms. Helped keep straight who we were talking about.
In Chickens? - Posted Aug 21, 2025
Insanely cute! Love the triangular chickens that surround them. I'm sure Woodbee is proud of Marl's drawing endeavors. Damn, this is adorable!
In Me but different - Posted Aug 21, 2025
Wow! Such wonderful sELFs! I see you took the challenge first. Now I need to do something. As soon as I finish all the other ideas. Sigh. All the Marls look so lovely, I can't decide which one has my attention most! Glad you did post a Sun Village Marl because...uh-oh, spoiler alert! The brief background info is also great, giving each a bit of life. Glad you had a chance to post something new in your busy school time!

My old gaming group had a few similar sort of characters. Never ended well. For anyone.
In Chickens. Triangular. - Posted Aug 20, 2025
Wait, I must have misunderstood. I thought chickens biting, not ladybugs. Never been pinched by a ladybug. They've got jaws, so I know they can, but it's never happened to me. Never heard anyone talk about it, either. I DO know they taste so damn bad that very few things will even try. Aphids I do know can nip.
In Frozen Rain - Posted Aug 20, 2025
Love the soft pencil work on her! I wasn't sure it was Frozen Rain since I'm so used to seeing her with a ponytail and sideswept bangs. We all like to change things up, though, and she should be no exception. Looks like a winter portrait as she seems bundled up a bit. Lovely face! Yeah, I never quite understood Skywise's face shield/plate/thing. It's visually interesting, but that's got to cause some slight blind spots.
In Story collector - Posted Aug 20, 2025
I recall this character! I thought of drawing her ages ago and just never got around to it. Hmm, maybe I still should. Her pose is so calm and serene, and the foreshortening on her face is well done. Even though you drew her as a human, I could've easily just thought she was still in her elf form. She's lovely, always thought she was. I'm with both you and Treefox, I was that kid you could leave in a library, and I'd read almost anything in front of me. Before leaving, I'd have my arms loaded with books to check out. It was my only source of happiness when visiting my paternal grandparents. My grandmother didn't know what to do with me and dumped me off at the library for a few hours early on in my visit.

I think it was mentioned when you had the illo of Beyond with strung gemstones in the antlers, the assumption being those were lights. I think. Anyway, this is a fun little comic and we get to see the interaction between dad and son. Seems they are quite similar in personality, and I doubt it'll take much for Beyond to convince him to make the antlers glow. Not sure why it would bother Mom, though. Still, Beyond seems determined to annoy Mom with glowing antlers! Will there be a followup showing Mom's reaction?
In Glowhorns 2 - Posted Aug 20, 2025
Zharo actually worried about someone's reaction? I somehow suspect it didn't take long for Beyond to convince Dad to throw in and have some fun, fireballs or no. Beyond is definitely determined! I think the color work is very visually catching, the flaming hair colors against cooler colors and a stark background. Makes the characters stand out. You're also adding highlights and lowlights, which brings the illo more to life. Keep up the good work! Don't be shy!
In Glowhorns 3 - Posted Aug 20, 2025
I sense a "like father like son" vibe from these two! Pure deviousness! Loving the hair colors, really makes them stand out in the minimalist panels. Those grins...the scheming and plotting between these two. You know they're going to love every moment of it. I wonder what color those antlers will glow...
In "You great old beast..." - Posted Aug 20, 2025
I love the composition as well. The focus is all on Yionyi, and I really like this pose and expression. It seems natural and fluid, but also intriguing: since they are not so close, why the somewhat intimate touch? What's the story? It lures the viewer in!
In "Face of the World Spirit" - Posted Aug 20, 2025
Ocuoros' design is really eye catching, although he certainly seems quite menacing here. Maybe it's the toothy grin, but he does seem to be reviving Yionyi for nefarious reasons. Don't think we've really seen him before. Maybe one illo, but not in such detail. Poor Yionyi. Damn, I keep saying that, don't I. I imagine being woken and re-housed in physical form from being dead would be shocking. indara does get a bit lost in all of the action. As Treefox said, this site doesn't always have a Renaissance like this with new members. Sometimes new members keep to themselves and don't interact much or at all.
In Fire and Flight remastered; p12 - Posted Aug 20, 2025
Include me in on the love of the last panel! The two that really stick out for me is Clearbrook, just so incredibly gorgeous in her concern, and how Strongbow is cradling young Dart. Wow! I also love the inclusion of the others since it has more of a Holt feel. Can't really express it. The original seemed to leave the rest out, but your rework shows the unity of the tribe and the emotions of all. I really love it.
