As you've probably guessed already, the site has been updated to the latest forum and gallery software, along with some other tweaks I wanted to make to the site layout.
In no particular order, some of the changes you'll see are:
- "recent artwork" section now has more than one page
- ability to sort "recent artwork" section by views and rating
- new "recent entries" section to separate out calendar entries and entries for upcoming site challenges/contests
- you should now be able to move your images between your folders (yay!)
- previous/next links now include thumbnail images
- mature items will no longer be completely invisible, but will now appear with a "mature item" default image
- you can set an album to "disable browsing", so that you can link images from a gallery, but it won't show up in the "recent artwork" section. Very handy for things like drawovers. ^_^
- image description is now up under the image, and easier to read
- and many more things that may not be obvious, but make my job easier!
It was a more painful process than I was anticipating (these things always are!), and I'm fairly sure there are still bugs to work out, but I thought I'd open up the doors, so to speak, so that people could report any problems they are seeing in this thread.
Known problems:
- some album icons MIA
I'm especially concerned about any problems you have adding/editing files.
-
I can't find the comment button in the gallery..?
-
It looks pretty awesome, good work! I'm really looking forward to the challenges.

I can't find the comment button in the gallery..?
Meep! Thank you. That was bad. Fortunately it was just a goof-up on my part with the new permissions system, and not a bonafide bug. Should be working now.
-
Thanks, that worked. ;)
I also found something else, I saw my album no longer has an icon. I just uploaded a new picture and set that to be the icon, but my main folder (seen from the page members galleries) still has no icon.

Another question/bug, not sure if it's related to this... Whenever I try to edit my rather long post in the Members' characters topic, I can't get the message box to stay at the right place. Not sure how to explain it, but when I scroll to say halfway the message and want to add something there, the moment I type one letter the scroll jumps to a point higher up in the message and I can't see the part I'm supposed to edit, half to scroll again to find it. It keeps doing this, and it's rather annoying 'cause I want to keep up with the posting of new thumbnails.
-
What browser are you using?
And is it just the text in the edit box that leaps around, or is the the whole page?
-
IE8, and it's only the edit box.
-
Whoa! I see what you mean. For me it scrolls up, then scrolls back down quickly to where I put the cursor.
I take it that is new with the latest update? There was an upgrade to the forum software in addition to the gallery software, so maybe they added a bug.
-
No, it was there before as well, just forgot to mention it. :o But I noticed I go back and edit that post a lot, so...

It also did this for me yesterday, when quoting a post. Once I get past the bottom of the text box, the text starts jumping around and won't stay where the cursor is. I don't know if the same thing happened prior to the upgrade :( I'm using IE8 as well.

Huzzah, finally found and fixed the bug where mature images were showing up in the previous/next thumbnails when you had your filter turned on. Now that we have some bona-fide mature content, I figured I better not let that bug hang around. :P
Now to fix the !@#^@#$ missing album icons. *sigh*
-
Now I cannot see any mature content at all anymore even though I set the filter to "off". Still appreciate all the work you put into this, Foxeye. ;D
-
It's because you have not entered a birthdate. You have to be over 18. :)
-
D'oh! Thanks! I guess I never noticed because we haven't had any stuff marked as mature... *feels stupid*
-
Most people don't even notice until something breaks down.
Nothing's broke, but thank you for all your support and hard work keeping this site in line.
