That's great! I'll have to google that a bit more. I had a coworker who married a fellow from iceland, but this never came up. :P

Makes me think of the vildvittror and vittror (mostly mentioned and acted upon) in the Ronja Rövardotter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088015/) (Ronia, the Robber's Daughter) movie. Basically the Swedish version and some more creatively created ones to suit the movie, of the huldufólk :)

I loved that movie when I was a kid! Ronja is an awesome character <3
