I was just curious if you have gotten gifts like that.
I've never been given them up until last week after my boyfriend went to a Magic tournament he comes home with this for me: (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a154/driger_chick/284565_2220451146362_1100163156_32622472_2552610_n.jpg)
Needless to say I just about cried. :D

I would say that he is a keeper!
-
That would be an awesome gift to get. :D
I was too impatient to give anyone the *chance* to gift me EQ, unless that someone were the Universe. I'll never forget that trip my family took to NYC, wandering into a comic book shop in Greenwich Village, and discovering that there was a BRAND NEW ELFQUEST (the first issue of Kings of the Broken Wheel). That was one of the most magical days of my childhood. Somewhere around here I have a picture of me sitting on a fountain edge reading that comic.

My uncle gave me the first 2 or 3 issues in Danish once when I was... 8 I think? He was cleaning out his comics I think and I'd been consuming them every time I was there to visit. So I got them for my birthday :D

I think the universe counts. That sounds like an awesome experience! If you find the picture you should post it!

Hm, quite a lot of people made me gifts related to elfquest. Windleben gave me my very first Elfquest comic. My grandmother gave me the next one and than my husband and other very good friends added more. It was such a wonderful time collecting all these great issues. So I'm totally exited about new material ;).
Wow thats great that some many people did that! You must have some really awesome people in your life!

Oh man, I remember being soooo jealous for Jenny Elf. Well, except for the part about her being in the accident. :(

Back in 1993, my mom ordered for me Wendy Pini's Law And Chaos: The Art of Stormbringer book and A Wolfrider's Reflection CD. I remember waiting very impatiently for them in the mail. Still have the CD, and the Stormbringer book is still around somewhere, but it's fallen apart, all the pages fell out. Still have all the pages though. I devoured that book, wanted (and still want) to draw like THAT. Just wow! I never read the Elric stories, but because of Wendy's art, I did do some drawings of Elric years and years ago. I've seen a lot of art of Elric online, but none have captured the feel of Wendy's. I tried to emulate the way she drew him. I have a recent little sketch of him in my sketchbook...maybe I oughta post it..
Anyway, I digress.

My husband (back when he was my boyfriend) bought me the ElfQuest board game off of eBay some years ago (because my copy of the RPG was lonely and he couldn't afford to buy the figs or the expansion).
I also got all of my sister's comic books when she was cleaning out her closet, and there a handful of EQ books in there ... a little shop that was in Pike Place Market in the mid 90s had grabs bags, and there were just two EQ bags, so we each got one. The ones I received from her had been the contents of her bag.

My best friend got me the Cutter sculpted bust for Christmas. :love

Nope, never. People I know don't know Elfquest. And people that do don't know anything about it... They're like... Ummm... Elfquest, that's with those ummm... elves, right? Some even think it's childish...

My cousin once surprised me with Original Wavedancers #6 for birthday - the issue I was missing to complete story collection. :-) He picked up in a conversation that I couldn't get it.
And two books of the Elfquest Archives much later - but these were birthday presents I had suggested.
