Hey everyone!!
So i need some advice... Last year i made a Nightfall cosplay and it was alot of fun! This year i'm going to make an Ember costume for an anime convention here in Colorado. (which i think more people should come to cause it was alot of fun)
I'm just not sure what outfit i should make for Ember... Which is the most recognizable?
Any help would be great!
Thanks!

The question you should be asking yourself is which you will be most comfortable with, and which one you want to do look through them an see which ones you would like to do an then maybe post some pics of the ones you like and perhaps we can work from there X3
-
You bring up a very good point! Well i'm not very modest, so i'm good with anything!!
I really like... (http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs10/i/2006/082/4/c/Elfquest_lovers_ID_by_Elfquest_Lovers.jpg) So i'm sorta of leaning towards it...
but at the same time this one is really cool

I think the first picture is more distinctly Ember; it's much more unique to her. The outfit in the second picture is pretty generic but admittedly probably much easier to make except for the strategic sword reflection. (Sorry, you really set yourself up for that one ;) )
-
X3 yep those Sword reflections are darn difficult to make to be sure, but yes that one would be the easiest to make the bottom at least X3
I like the top one I agree with Kael the first one is more distinctly Ember.
-
I like the one from Wild Hunt best, but the top outfit is probably more recognizable.
I demand pictures once you've done it :D
-
XD! Yeess damn those sword reflections! (i did ask for it!) :D :D
Ok i think i will go for the first one! Thanks for all your help!
Yes pictures! maybe i'll even climb a tree again! ;)
OK another question...
wig? or hair dye?
I found a really pretty wig on ebay for like...$25? but i've never bought a wig... does that price sound reasonable?
-
I like the outfit you chose a lot! Concerning wigs, I think even barely decent looking ones tend to be pretty expensive, so the price seems reasonable. If you have the hair length, I would recommend to color your hair, though. Usually looks more natural. That also depends on the wig that is.
-
I agree with Treefox, hair dye usually looks more natural. and I too, would recommend that you did the costume on the first picture!
-
Thank you everyone!
I do have the hair length and texture to pull off Ember (yay!) and i am constantly dying my hair with Manic Panic dye... it lasts about a week and a half, so i think i might go that route, since i'm not sure how being red will effect my skin tone!
Ok so i whipped up this rough draft of the costume last night, with some fabric i found cheap! ($1 a yard!!!!!) And i would really appreciate some advice, what changes should i make...? (please ignore belly ring, i was too lazy to take it out! XD)

i can do one of two things.
1. make changes to this rough draft and invest in some Suede or Faux Suede and remake it...
2. make changes to said rough draft and then call if quits.

You're so quick! :o It's awesome.
Not sure if you could find a different color of fur?
-
yup, I also think that the fur-belt should be a little lighter, but you sure are fast! this looks fantastic!... that fabric looks just perfect!...
-
*whistles* Impressive! Both the outfit and the speed! It looks really awesome. Are you going to make the boots as well?
-
Looks great! Also very fitting color. Looking forward to see the whole picture!
-
*squealing* Thank you everyone! it was a pretty easy costume to make *blush*
As far as the belt is concerned, i think i will try it with my Nightfall belt and see how it looks. (Its white and brown) Pictures soon!
As far as the boots go, my Soul Sister has offered a pair of boots that arn't exactly what i was thinking but will do wonderfully. I will post a picture of those as well,
