"The Birth of the Father Tree" by Alyssa (Faerydae)
This is a picture of when Goodtree found her place in the tribe as a plant-shaper and at one of her key moments, as she was forming and shaping and giving birth to the Father Tree.

Strongbow Sticker
Companion piece to the Rillfisher one. This is why she never takes that over-zealous bastard with her.

Rillfisher Sticker
So this was another vector piece I did with Rillfisher for a sticker design. Kind of a odd style of Elfquest stuff, but I had fun with it.

Kimono Winnie
I was inspired by some stuff I saw on the magical internets, and did this during my lunch break one day. It's all vector, which is really unique for me anyway, more of a photoshop gal myself, but the textures are all from origami paper.

Seeing Red
So yeah, um spoilers.
One of the thinks I didn't get about B.B.'s work in the Hidden Years, was how he depicted the battle between the Sunvillagers and Go-Backs. This was the battle that sent Dart into a centuries long depression for being so off the wall violent. His actions in the comic were on p…

Shadowwing
Done for Shadow Vale Holt, run by Laurey Sebok. This is her husband's character, Shadowwing, a bat-winged elf living among the gliders of the Eyrians. I'm happy that out of several artists' renditions, this was the one chosen as the reference illo.
Shadowwing belongs to John Sebok.

Diamondfire
One of my characters in World Paths Holt, Sagewinds, The Wolf Elves. He's the son of my character Imapalaswift and Danette Devlin's Topaz. This is an old illo, but I still love the character. Sagewinds Holt won't know what hit them - he has his mother's temper and his father's sense of humor.

Crystalblue Persuasion
Hey, I didn't name him. Friendly, flirty character in Holt of Grand Illusions. Hard to effectively draw tie-dye, but overall, I think he turned out okay. Crystalblue Persuasion belongs to Wendy Yocum.
Does anyone else get a song annoyingly stuck in their heads when they read this name?

Decision
Another golden oldie. Soul brothers and chieftains of Holt of Grand Illusions, Amberfox and Desertmoon. It's a bit of a lengthy story (seeing as how it is a story illo), but after a serious transgression in the Holt, these two retreated to the trees to determine a Holtmate's fate. As usual, Amberfo…

Pretty much after the ambush at the Go-Back lodge. Medka gets zero fanart time. So....Redlance is taking minute in the cold with old Sac o' bones.

Scouter Portrait
This is the first of my portraits that I've done start to finish with my cintiq, and I must say, I reaaaaally like the way I work with the cintiq. Lots faster and lots looser. I think I have to go back and re-visit the Tyleet and Leetah ones and get them up to snuff. lol.

Cutter Portrait
My first attempt at Cutter. I still like this piece alot, even though some of the details are really rough *cough* necklace *cough, cough*.
Attempting a more realistic-y style, not that the elves are very realistic-y themselves....lol

Snow
Snow ® Willowspring
Yeah...not much else to say about this except I love drawing braids, and apparently Snow is bustacular-galore. ....and I make up words. Quick everyone use bustacular-galore 25,000 times so it can be an officially recognized word!

Tyldak = Fail
I'm not really dissing on the character...when he's awesome and majestic he's good, but he makes a really awkward and unwieldy chibi.
And seriously....fur banana hammock. Need I say more?

Fairy Tale
Bar Cutters feet, which totally lack anatomy.....(I usually give up and there's no form below the knees)-- I'm totally happy with this piece. It was one of the ones where I actually gave a damn about the characters looking like themselves and paid attention. This also doubled as "welcome back to th…

Keeping a Secret
So...this one makes no sense unless you know the story behind the characters, so spoilers and stuff. Willowgreen is lifemate to the cheif, Greywolf is his best-friend. They recognized, but had to keep their recognition a secret.
I didn't really mean for this to have such a HUGE creepy, raperly-vi…

Dying
I had this idea for a loooong time, sketched it out, lost that sketch, and then just re-did the piece a year or two later. lol.
There has been debate about the inclusion of the *sob*, but Savah is so emo, and that's why God invented thumbs....so you can block out crap on artwork that you don't like…

Dreams
This linework took FOREVER.... it was also my first foray into drawing wolves...which I feel was mostly sucessful. This was totally inspired by Wendy's illustration "True Peace". And for me, when I think of dreams, I think of what should have been, but isn't. Oh yeah, anyone can color this. And…

Flowers
Wing and his oh-so-tiny-hips getting his boob grab on.
This was supposed to be a far more awesome drawing...but I really had no time, so I promised myself it would be super fast, like 15 min...so it's really rough and the flower petals are a lame mass of pink.
....and Bethia has no nipples.

Under the Rain
Wow. Lol. I don't remember this piece being so....fluorescent. So I did this back when I hated Teir...(don't hit me)---I only hated him because I'd never read any stories about him and EVERYONE kept requesting picture of him. Seriously. It's a pain to draw a character that you have no emotional conn…

Mother Nature
So Kaslen IS mother nature....so it's lame and uncreative of me to do her, but that's how the cookie crumbles. This is also my personal favorite work of mine, and the first painting I did playing around with my new cintiq....which has shamefully been used to make lame icons and buttons and not nearl…

"At Last" by Kelly McKay (Joyrider1978)
2010 Fan Art Calendar: MAY
Redlance's plantshaping powers finally emerge... I always imagined this as a far more emotional self-discovery than depicted in the comics; perhaps it was the novelization that gave me the idea, though I misplaced the book long ago. Yet Redlance struggled so long with f…

"Still Finding Our Place" by Seraphima Chisler (Elftanner)
When the elves landed they were scared and scattered, when they decided to make the best of it (because they couldn't go back) they decided to find a place for themselves. They still are in the form of Cutter's tribe.
Stranded on a world not our own, struggling to find our place. Children grown, ge…

Woodlock, and especially Rainsong are mostly shown as "perfectly assimilated", but I like the idea of them still bounding with wolves and hunt at night, it's in their blood, right?!
