So since Rayek doesn’t get crazy and Winni is not manipulating him I have made the decision to give the pair the role of palace masters/ pilots. This shows Highone Winni being more than misspleased with humans attacking the elfs/palace.

As kid I thought that Wendy Pini did all the work herself (Sorry Richard). I did not know her face or anything just the name on the cover. Still I am very grateful that she created what defined much of my childhood and imagination.
My wish is to maybe meet her one day but it is somewhat unrealistic…

Didn't change much that was obvious.  I remember agonizing about the composition, the darks and the lights and angles of limbs, but in the end I just added a little more background to a couple panels to sorta ground them on a plane.

Hm... Redlance is pretty.  Other than that, I was still feeling out how to draw humans and wolves in a way that satisfied my desire for realism but stayed as expressive and clear-reading as their more cartoonish early depictions.

Some costume and appearance changes.  Added a flight of steps up into the Palace & some business with the early trolls.  The High Ones wonder why the atmosphere is assaulting them with wetness.

I think computer coloring is the only way to get that opal glow from the palace.  Certainly I couldn't do it in inks or watercolor.  Minor tweaks only.  Traced, inked, recolored for my own fulfillment.

Ah, limited palette plays SO NICE with these lines!  The Father Tree Press edition got that right, even if the later digital coloring better captured the glow that Wendy wanted.
