Yionyi and Zharo have known each other for a very long time. Originally, Yionyi came in contact with Zharo after his spirit had been woken up by Indara and agreed to bring Anphal to the surface of the planet to gain access to the ship's great "Gardens". (It was deeply buried.)
Once resurrected by Ocuoros and thrown into Anphal (now used as a wonky prison by the Circle), Zharo kept up his part of the deal and made Yionyi the overseer of all the "Gardens".
They're not exactly "buddy-buddy", Zharo's aloofness and Yionyi's volatile temper kinda make it impossible, but they're still very close.

You come up with great evocative titles. Getting to know so many different aspects of Zharo... and Yionyi. Maybe that's who I'll draw next...

I love the composition as well. The focus is all on Yionyi, and I really like this pose and expression. It seems natural and fluid, but also intriguing: since they are not so close, why the somewhat intimate touch? What's the story? It lures the viewer in!

It's really hard to explain XD I love weird, intimate and intense dynamics.
Story wise, Yionyi has spent some time with Zharo as a spirit and that's given them a weird, unexplainable connection. This isn't that unique because he has weird bonds with Indara and Sharni, who have also come in contact with him as spirit. He's mates with Sharni, he's able to sense Indara and I think Zharo's just very fond of him for about 5 different reasons. They're kinda a weird sort of soulmates, just not the kind EQ is used to? |
