I promised an explanation of Beyond's horns!
They're bones he attaches to his head. They lock around his ears and basically hug the top of his head and his hair helps keep them in place. He gets his grandmother, Khisthel to shape them and they are intentionally creepy looking.
The circles on the string are some kind of multi colored gemstones disks or some kind of colorful shell? I'm admittedly not sure, I based them on something I've seen used as a decoration and a headdress I've seen in Elden Ring.
The little chipped bits of stone on the horns are all very colorful and are put on by the some of the tribe's children.

Oh nice to see how this headgear is actually fixed to his head. It's so cool that the horns look like creepy hands. Great work by Khisthel!

I agree with Treefox! I've noticed occasionally the bits of gemstones/shells/etc entwined in his antlers appear almost like little lightbulbs! I think it's fun, and why not decorate them? Okay, no lightbulbs, but the other stuff that is available.

I mostly leave them blank because they're so small, I can't draw anything nice when it's that small. |

I figured I might be giving him ideas. Sorry. I tend to try and add too much detail no matter the size or shape of the object/item. I understand. You know, I can imagine Beyond running around with those little Yule lights wrapped loosely in his antlers...just because he could.

If I recall correctly, aren't the Timeless, specifically Beyond, Uli, and maybe Res, a bit xenophobic? Would they very reluctantly allow a total stranger near them, even if neutral territory just outside the holt? I suspect Res would pretty much immediately notice if this stranger was an empath, how would he react? Thoughts? And hmmm, I wonder why I'd be asking this...hmmm...

XD They can come off as being xenophobic,yeah. But it really depends on who they're dealing with the mental impression they get from them. If somebody needs help they'll nab you right up and run off to the nearest healer. Beyond will literally do this. The current version of him found an abandoned little human girl named Sulai and just adopted/abducted her.
They tend to have very low tolerance for people/groups who are aggressive to them and will just shut them out/close the door on them without warning. Res can detect empaths right away. He's found one of his mates buried under snow at one point. He's usually very cautious and typically has people with him because he's very, very magic focused and not that physically adept. He's the one who likes exploring, they can't really stop him from doing that so they send a group with him. XD (God I need to draw him too. I don't think he's changed at all. He's very elfie no matter what setting they're in. He's the guy who invents robes because he's not a cave elf.) I hope you're ok! I broke my pinky a while back, but it's getting better! |
