New characters!

by Afke

When I said I would redraw that lady from my old wallpainting, a whole lot more got started in my head. Because I reminded myself of an idea I had earlier, to draw my elf self in the various canon tribes. To not make this girl stand out on her own, why not at the same time create an elf self from the Sunfolk to go with her in pictures?

I had a tough time at first, struggling with control of the lines (and my eyesight, apparently), but I've already gotten more used to it while drawing more pictures. Coming soon, I just want to colour them with my markers (not Photoshop like this one), and need to print the linework at the library for that, but today is too hot to go out there.
It's funny how I've forgotten the joy of creating new characters. No expectations, so no perfectionism either.

More info on them soon!

Afke!!! New art from you is the best for me today. I'm so happy! This is so beautyfull! The hoody is so cool! The paterns on it are cute. They look so relaxed and happy. It is nice to read, that an idea of drawing the lady from the wallpainting anew gives you a boost of creativity. I hope it will last

As you said of me, I'm so happy to see new art from you! It's been too long! Great to see Okatay brought back and updated, even more that it seems to have inspired creativity and encouraging you to do more art! She seems very lively and friendly, enjoying everyday activity with Tukteh. I'm guessing it's gossiping, Sun Villagers seem very active with that. Tukteh looks to be the lead here, right in the middle of a tale. Such relaxed and believable poses. Look forward to seeing the pen colored version. Do you feel more comfortable using pens or that you can bring more life to images than with digital work?

I don't want to work digitally, because there so much these days we need a computer for, have to stare at screens so much already (I want less screen time, not more), so I never properly learned. I can do some basics like this, slap some texture on it and some more tricks, but that's it, patience has run out. Still, even this simple one has taken me ages, at least two hours, while I coloured their newer portraits in like 20 minutes. AND having it look more alive as well.
I prefer analogue materials every time. :) I want my fingerprints on the paper.

Hehe, I want this hoodie as well, though not in that colour. :D
