Goodtree's stories have a consistent theme of finding and being found. From finding her gift saving the tribe that had come to find her, to finding her soul-name with her companions, to being found by humans at last thanks to her son's willful curiosity, beginning to end, the hidden is revealed. Ah well - it was nice while it lasted, wasn't it?
(Also, Lion-leaper is kind of a goofy name, especially when I keep mistyping it as Loin-leaper. Can he jump fires or something instead of large felines?)

A gorgeous rendition of Goodtree, so mesmerizing to look at! Beautiful coloring on her eyes and the vine/flower headband is beautifully detailed. Never considered the "found" theme that was in her stories, but now that you mention it...Goodtree, have you been rolling in dew? Very sparkly, though! Lionleaper and Acorn are looking stunning here as well, but I never thought of their relationship as close. They always seemed to just basically tolerate each other, but maybe that was my interpretation, and it is YOUR story. Always thought Lionleaper was attractive, and he certainly is here! His name seemed strange to me, are there lions in this forest? Maybe they're referencing mountain lions, but I always thought African lions. The name Acorn seems a bit stranger to me. Is he nutty? What's with the nut names for this guy? Either way, love the inclusion of the holt area scenery that was pivotal in Goodtree's soul name search. Loving all these cover illos! Hope there are even more to come!

They definitely had a tough time sharing Goodtree, multiple times in their relationship with each other. However... really, a three-mating with two people who only suffer each other's presence because of the one they're both in love with is unsustainable. I sure hope they worked it out eventually! I gave them a little nudge in my version - Recognition (of what idiots they both are.)
As for the dew - yeah, I just wanted to make this cover really sparkly and rainbow-y! I was thinking just-rained-on, actually, with the storm moving off into the mountains and leaving a rainbow behind. Kind of the opposite of the approaching-storm sky in Tanner's cover. |

Those raindrops are goooorgeous! Goodtree looks stunning. Love the little sending star highlights in her eyes, almost, like it's a hint to her hidden magical powers. Her head wreath is super beautiful. All the greens, of course, perfect for her. And Lion-Leaper as well as Acorn actually look good! Those comics weren't always easy on the eyes...
I like it so much that you show a more cordial relationship between those two. I was wondering about that lion thing since I was a kid... Do the Wolf riders know lions? How would that be possible? I was mainly wondering because Treestump's wolf was named Lionskin. But I never thought that it might be referring to a mountain lion. I like that! Still snickering about Loin-Leaper... |

I always wondered where they would have gotten the word "lion" from. They'd have saber tooth tigers, but I don't think they had lions XD I love how Goodtree looks here. She only looks right when she's covered in plants.
