Half Hill Holt
by Woodbee
Or more accurately, Taal Tales. I dunno, the Half Hill Holt stories are fantastic but they almost seem more like Tanner's time than Freefoot's. Except Tanner was a wee bab named Oakroot just before the tribe got flooded out of Half-Hill. Hmm.
Anyway, I love the taal-stick game and the series of misadventures suffered by the participants (and its echo in the children's games, in the novel.) That comic's already drawn, and not too badly, so I just made it a little clearer that Tanner's not the one making their clothes, yet, and changed the dinosaurs to the other kind of dinosaur, ratites. And instead of Lonebriar/Talon sending them away, they have Giant Chicken Dinner.

Both cute and engaging! Of course Freefoot is charmingly silly here, with his expression and the gesture for the viewer to stay quiet. Seems like we (the viewers) are already a part of the action. Excellent expression, by the way. Often drawing certain expressions can be difficult, coming off as unrealistic or a poor impression of what was intended. You rocked this one! The action is amazing, and I vaguely recall this story, or something similar. It's just been too long, and I only read it once. Suretrail...I think I drew him but didn't finish before the deadline for a calendar submission. Again, your backgrounds just really pull the viewer in and is so detailed and gorgeous! Again, thank you for posting these. Seeing activity back on the website has inspired me to get off my butt and do more art!

Inspiring others to draw more is the best compliment I could ever get.

*laughs* They ARE terrifying! Again, I agree with Amberfox, Freefoot's expression is so so well done! Nice color you chose for his hair. I really like your interpretation of the story. The action in the background is also so compelling, like we are also standing on a branch, watching the fight below.
