Yikes! That is terrifying and very fitting! Yeah, he's been through some stuff, hasn't he? I'm curious if we'll see the conclusion of this storyline.

I didn't read much of Rogue's Curse, and it's been a while. Am I right this is the gypsy-esque human he got really close to? I seem to remember she got killed at some point - is this what happened? She got beheaded? Yeah, Rayek has truly been put through a lot. He seemed to experience a bit of a character arc, but taking on Winnowill can't possibly help. Glad he's had a much better life in your alternative storyline.

Ah! Don't know if I saw this cover before. Been a while, and I didn't follow Rogue's Curse through. I do recall reading Winnowill getting her head chopped off by the Djun, or whatever male leader she seduced. Very haunting, and deeply devastating for Rayek, considering he had such a close attachment to Winnowill. I never did quite understand what that relationship was, however. I believe I read it was something similar to Recognition, or a forced Recognition on Winnowill's part, or something.
