Ohh, I love how this turned out!! I don't know how you make it work, but those greens and blue-violets are super beautiful and they go so so well together! I love that you chose songshaping for this theme. So original! Acorn looks soooo much more handsome as in the comics! His lovely dark brown hair goes well with the other colors and yeah, I kinda wanna undress and sit down next to naked Acorn to "make some music" with him. The instruments turned out excellent!! I can almost hear the music! Always happy to have your art in the calendar.

Thank you! As you know, this was a last minute entry after the one I had been working on was (understandably) rejected. Then I had to add more and more to this after I thought I was done. Annoying, but I'm glad I could throw in and help again for this. Yeah, wasn't a fan of how he looked in the comics, either and thought maybe I could do him justice. At least he looks like the adult he was supposed to be. Now that I'm seeing the other calendar submissions, I wish I could've done more with the composition. Argh.

Oh, that is a nice idea. Music as a form of creation and making. And fitting for the elves! That nighttime surroundings allow a focus on the bright areas and these leaves give a nice frame, like they're tending towards the source of music.
God, I had to look up who Acorn is. ^_^ You see, the calendar is a good opportunity to learn about rare characters, too. :) Now I wonder if the left part is just a sort of overlay into the image, or a sort of imagination, or if he's also there kind of floating, because he lifts off by the very music (I think sometimes one might kind of levitate with good music).

Oh yes, I want to nod rigorously at the statement that he looks like an adult in your version. Very much so! And I deeply appreciate it!

Ohhh! I have little memory of who Acorn is but he's gorgeous here! What a neat idea to have both scenes in this fashion, well done.
I also really love the leaves in the background! Wonderfully detailed.

Btw, I meant to write "nods vigorously", not rigorously. Geez... My English isn't what it used to be. :lol

Not to worry, I understood what you meant! Thank you for everyone who commented, it's encouraging and inspiring to me. I am currently working on coloring several illos, but it's slow going due to parental care distraction.

I love how you both have a tasteful nude and an «action» or rather, a creative pose. Both the purples, the earthy browns and the greens go so well together. It is so pretty! The mastery you have of color pencils never ceases to amaze me.

:love those leafs are so brilliant drawn! And the colors are so beautiful!

I can't remember him at all, but he looks very cute and handsome. The pose is such a nice kinda stretch in the legs. Now I can't stop imagining how he looks without the instrument...
The drums seem like someone is missing - that pops up in my mind

Thank you! Thank you! Acorn was the chosen lifemate of Chieftess Goodtree in a trimating with her Recognized lifemate Lionleaper. Acorn appeared in two comics (I think Hidden Years), one regarding Goodtree finding her soul name and Recognizing, the other was showing him as being more of a father to Mantricker when he first meets up with Demontricker. If he appears anywhere else, I'm not aware of it. I believe Barry Blair was responsible for drawing him in the issues, definitely had that child look to him.

I'm a bit envious of the lap harp myself...

The drums could be that an accompaniment is missing, but I threw them in because I thought as a musician as well as a singer and "songshaper" (whatever that means), why restrict himself to the known harp and flute? Surely, he would've expanded on his skillset.

As for my mastery of color pencils, I see how well everyone else is doing with digital and wonder if I really need to start experimenting in them myself. Such gorgeous work from others, maybe i could do better as well. Well, playing a flute is sort of action, I suppose, right? Thank you so much! Regarding the two images of him and what they may represent, I'll leave that up to each viewer. The Wolfriders are so often depicted being out in the day, which I thought wasn't their lifestyle, so I really wanted to show they WERE nocturnal. And I wanted to try and bring more color to the overall image instead of just those browns and blues.
