Songjoy...Again
by Amberfox
Songjoy, probably at his blonde-ist, just as the colors in his hair start to come back. Will try and return to this to add background at some point. Uh-huh. I just wish my scanner could really capture the colors more accurately. Oh well. The colors on all of these are so vibrant, but not when scanned.

Ooooh, a golden boy.
You may be able to get some of the colour back in photoshop. I find levels do wonders when I need things to be either darker or lighter or more contrasted. Too bad your scanner doesn't allow for more control. ![]() |

Wow, the different shades of violet and green in his shirt look so, so good! I can imagine that the original looks better. It's really something I enjoy about digital drawing that the colors look closer to what I imagined. Even though the screen you use is also changing a lot...

Yeah, his shirt/tunic also has shades of blue in it to blend the violet and green together better. He tends to wear white and light colored silks when hanging around the holt, more appropriate attire when he is out and about. I really should explore digital coloring, but at the moment, I just don't have a lot of programs on my computer. I just have the most basic of basics and no real knowledge of what works best for my needs. As for Photoshop, I used to have a program on my old laptop that worked really well and I had learned to use a lot of techniques with it, but what I have on my current one seems a lot cheaper and more simplified. Can't seem to make it do any of what I used to. It just stares at me, taunting (and I swear I hear giggling).

It took me soooo long to get the hang of digital drawing... using a tablet has really changed everything for me. So much easier! Do you have a digital pen or would you use a mouse?

I don't have anything beyond a mouse at this point, but maybe I should look into a digital pen and/or tablet. I did try using photoshop to color long ago and it was just weird to me, so I didn't keep it up. Maybe it's time to revisit. I can be a bit slow to new technology, I admit.

Digital drawing with a mouse is a pain in the butt! Getting a pen/tablet helps so, so much. And as I have said before, it also took me ages to get into it...

He looks great, definitely a pretty boy type. I usually draw on my phone will need to get an iPad and Apple Pencil eventually because using a pen/tablet is too difficult for me to get used to.

Yes, drawing and coloring with a mouse is as useful as a bicycle for a fish.
Oh, no! Not a pretty boy! My gaming group used that as an unflattering term for completely useless morons. |

Let me rephrase that he’s very cute and he does look somewhat vulnerable. Though maybe only around friends or loved ones . Is he a singer or does he just play an instrument?

No problem, I didn't think you had the same definition of a pretty boy. Our gaming group had terms and definitions that would confuse everyone else. Songjoy is a singer and musician (guitar, harp, lute, lyre, drums), also a lyricist, artist, and symbolmaker. I would say he is vulnerable, but how vulnerable would depend on how one defines it. I would say he's about as vulnerable as Redlance, give or take. In some cases, he's more, some he's less, but roughly similar to Redlance. I really need to edit his CIS and upload it to this site!
