Mermay 2021 31 celebrity

#celebrity Day 31 of Mermay. This picture was started in december and was finished in march. Yes,I was a little bit late for X-mas but at last not for Mermay 😆😅. The Sea Raiders had a great X-mas with a sunk fir tree and a lot of covid-protection-masks and brightly glowing anglerfishes as X-mas-tree decorations. Above is a harpy-elf, that brought Rayek with her (the poor dear is about to get drowned), while Haken wonders how merelves are able to drink out of drinking glasses...and bottles underwater. Areias is drawn here for the first time in his preliminary Design. (with 4 Fingers, larger eyes, smaller Body).

Wow! How did I miss this?! This is amazing, so much work went into drawing and inking this! I love how each character weaves into the others for such a coherent, eye catching illo; so much to see every time one looks at it. Moonlight looks so enthusiastic, but I rarely see Yeee looking troubled. Haken has a valid question in the physics of being underwater with drinks, but keep at it, Haken, you'll figure it out. Embala and - is it Longfin? - look so sweet and entangled in each other. Love the idea of using angler fish as decorations for this strange object everyone seems excited about, and love the inclusion of Sebastion getting chased by them. Does the harpy have a name? Poor Rayek, he does seem to get abused in the fandom, doesn't he? Absolutely fantastic illo!
