Chatting with a friend about some fantasy anatomy that was bugging me.  Before I could say I was being punny; she gave me some advice . . .

I am always so impressed with your pencilwork! It is so clean and has great shading. As for the subject matter, gods, that is horrifying! Without using any blood you made this picture really creepy. The implication of this collector not understanding that this creature has a personhood... well done!

Okay... Petalwing was wrong saying to Cutter, that he can't slice him open with his sword because his skin is to thick. This must be the 27th pin the collector uses to get through the skin xD
I don't get what's with the eyes, it look like a doll or a cartoon. Did the Collector choose the wrong side to pin the beautiful wings at a cartboard? He can't see all the colors of the wings.
This idea is very uncomfortable but a nice one.
Did you use a lineal to shade the background? It's so precise and clean! Wonderful shading in general!

>Startear   Thank you.  It is hard to keep a pencil drawing from smearing - I personally use a ruler or plastic triangle to rest my hand on as I go across the page.  And I use 3 different kinds of erasers for the/my effect of shading.

>Yavia   I think you mean Cutter could not squeeze, or crack it, like a nut shell, maybe.  Don't remember the knife threat . . .   Anyhoo  - 'had' to change the eyes too cartoon; Open and small pupil, freaked even me out!   I thought real hard about the pose and made note of wing overlap difference on/for a Preserver vs Butterfly back to front.  But this was the image stuck in my head from just those five simple words as a solution to a problem:   "Put a pin in it."   Normally  such  trustworthy  advice.

(edit for Yavia- I should have told you here ? Yes,That I needed to start a new post because I cannot post in the comments?  I will remember.)
