Following the Zwoots
by Czarine
Whew! I had to test my Promarkers on Rayek (because he's always the one who gets to be the guinea-pig), and it got out of hand...
This took a few days to finish, because I was super nervous and careful when mixing the colors. It's so much easier with digital art! I ended up adding some colored pencil on top of the markers here and there. I'm not very good at picking colors, so I stayed with Wendy's color palette on her portrait of Rayek (https://tinyurl.com/y85t23yn). So this doesn't have that much originality, it's more like a detailed study of Rayek.

I love the colouring on the rocks Rayek's holding. It's so intense and so pretty! The gold to orange background is dazzling!

OMG, he looks like the classic painting of Wendy, the very same colours! Like that big image plate that was in the back of OQ 3.
Ah, yes, reading your text now ![]() This shall be my new wallpaper background on one of my boxes now. Ha! You mad my weekend! (It's really hard to obtain some of these colours as cloth for making costumes, by the way...) |

Good way for practising with unfamiliar materials though, and the pose is still original.

This is so wonderful! It just amazes me that people can create beauty like this. I love the rocks and the sky in the background!

It may have taken ages but oh man! You did a wonderful job! The colors are so well blended! I love the lighting you used in the background, how it bounces on Rayek's well toned body. And I can practically feel the jagged texture of the rocks. I also like the inking, it is very solid!
Edit: also, as a curiosity, what kind of markers did you use? |

I absolutely love this old school Rayek. His face, so like the old day's. I'm happy you took Rayek as a guinea-pic he really looks stunning in this light and colors. Great job! The whole Pic just looks wonderful!
