Ekuar seems of comfort to many. I love that part of him portrayed here.
Odd that he seems so colourless on the outside, as this so obviously shows in contrast to the kids. I like to think that those palace crystals in the back actually show what is inside of him! |

From afar it first looked like Ekuar is a bit grumpy, but on a closer look it's more like he's worried. I like these big explosion-like-shaped crystals and the very different children with him in front of it. Those are some vivid colours!

Yes, he really seems to be a guide, mentor and father figure for so many, young and old. I can imagine him trying to comfort elf and troll children after being abducted and assuming that everything they love is gone... Also, I like that the sparkling palace cannot give the kind The water colors are sooo vibrant! Wonderful!

I hoped that Ember, Suntop, and Trinket would blend more into the crystals. Ekuar was meant to be the focus. And I figure Trinket would be the most needy, so in this moment he is trying to be a source of comfort to her... and the twins. ‘Papa Ekuar’

Colours! This is wonderful and sad at the same time, the colour is a great contrast to the sombre mood of the image. Ekuar definitely stands out with his more neutral colouring, and his position (love the composition, very bold and very effective), well done. The paint splotches really complete the image, nice touch!
