Yes JaRf (Yes Virginia) There really were RPG groups out there for ElfQuest ! Lucky for me Sweetwater Fan Club used these sheets and the manual with the books from BoTC and the/all information from the fan sheets at the time IE: The Lodestone Newsletter, the letters in the back of the original Magazine size first releases The big Hardcover Gatherum etc . . . We were talking about the late eighties and the early nineties here so a lot less was available; and no Web or Internet. Heck - our first few years of club 'zines were scissors and glue and a typewriter. I say lucky because I was not then a Gamer - just a fan, who happened to draw.
@Afke Fun and missed eh? We used these sheets more for our Writers Conclave - just rolled through the story for hit points and direction of character. |

Ah, I see. Doing RPG for a long time, but hardly ever met anyone knowing of the EQ P&P-RPG. A few people reading Elfquest, yes, but the RPG not.
Ah, the fanzines, never got hold of them here. Later, a bit past their time occasionally via ebay imports. Glue, scissors and typewriter. That gives me nostalgic feelings. I wonder how children are supposed to be raised these days without knowing all these things. Living without steady control of smart-things. How did we grow up? How could we just survive? ![]() |

Despite the lovely illo of Changestone on it, I often found the RPG CISs more annoying than useful. We created our own, which worked better for our own purposes. So yes, I was usually the gamemaster for a group of EQ RPGers. We would get together on weekends, sometimes for the entire weekend, and game for hours and hours. Popcorn and Mountain Dew were abundant. We all had pets that we'd bring with us to one person's house, so it was a busy, somewhat crowded, but VERY FUN experience. Anyway, LOVE the illo of Changestone.

ah, how nice! I also got to know about the Elfquest RPG after I stopped playing RPGs. Too bad, sounds like a fun experience! We would have had some pets to add as well.
