That does looks sad and scary. And the ink style adds to it. But is she thirsty for love? Can she even accept love when it is given?

Well, my point of view is that THIS IS the main reason why she feels that thirst /as paradoxical as it may sound/. She cannot accept it and this is the stumble stone which she has to get over if she wants to be loved. I suppose that this is old memories and pain in the deepest parts of her soul does not allow her to be warmed by healing beams of Love. She is able to burst these old dark fetters, open all the doors of her tired Heart and extend the hands towards the long-awaited all-forgiving Source.

That makes sense to feel the thirst if you don't allow yourself a sip of water, but it is probably hard to overcome when the reason is deeply buried in herself.
