Yup!more stuff I colored! Amberfox drew this neat picture about an year ago, and I've been meaning to color it ever since, but I am horrible with backgrounds and colors! anyway, I wanted to try am make the colors look like those strange times when light turn oddly yellow while the warm rain falls, (Happens in Finland quite often, sometimes the light might be red, but then there is thunder approaching) I though that Yellow might look good with Amberfox's hair here, but I couldn't really capture the glow it makes... and the background is a complete mess!... I hope I managed to color Amberfox right here! of and here is Amberfox's lineart for this!...

I really got to try the yellow light thing again, it's hard! but anyway, as with the other stuff from you, Amberfox, may I post this and the lineart you made to my other art page? I'd credit you of course!...

I like what you do with the colors though. And I love the yellow light! It gives it that vibe of loving to be in the rain, just like Amberfox pictured. Including the fuzzy background, that looks like a slight drizzle is taking the view away.

I tried to make it blurry on purpose, still didn't work as I would have wanted it,,, but maybe someday I'll get the effect right! I just honestly don't feel at home with colors, never have, never will... but I will always put effort when other people are kind enough to draw Marut!... it just might take long for me to color...

Sigh. I was so happy with this when I finished it, but now all I can see are the flaws. I hate when that happens. Anyway, I agree with Afke that having the background fuzzy works really well. It not only seems like there's a mist or light fog from the rain but also doesn't distract but enhances the characters in the foreground. Amberfox's pants are actually more the color of the lighter parts of Marut's hair, but that they're closer to the ground in this illo works just fine for me. After all, he's not one to shy away from rolling in the dirt or getting muddy! As for the yellow light thing...are you referring to Amberfox's hair? If so, next playing with colors, use a light tan or brown and gently apply it and/or use yellow over the brown/tan. That's often the lowlights you see in blonde hair. Still, I have no complaints with the colors and shading you've used here. You've done a wonderful job bringing black and white to color! Funny though, how we're a bit monochromatic, both in grey. Oh, almost forgot - love the puddles! If you haven't already read the email, yes, by all means, you may use my lineart I've done of your gang on your art pages/websites.

Well, I'm not happy with the fuzzyness myself, doesn't look right here when compared to the moments when the yellow glow is going on during rain... so Amberfox's pants are white? for I used white when making shines on Marut's hair... sorry for the wrong color, but I couldn't find reference other that one of your group pictures... tried mimicking the colors from that! Oh, and the yellow light is a thing that happens in colder countries during summer, sometimes when it starts to rain and the air is hotter than usually, everything starts looking like you were looking it through a yellow glass, making every surface, grass, skin, hair sort of look like it was tinted yellow and all looks like it it glowing slightly... times like those were considered magical during old times around Finland... Oh, I haven't checked my email yet! will do so soon! thank you for the permission to use the art! I will link the pictures to you in the email once I get around posting them and answering the mail, so you can see and tell me if something needs changing and what not!...

Interesting about the yellow color, did not know that. Being from a very hot and humid climate, all I can say is that the sky becomes a very eerie (and icky) neon yellow-green after a tornado. You know one has developed nearby if you see that, but you're safe because it's a sign that it's passed. It rarely snows where I live, and only once in my life have I ever witnessed a true snow storm. Never had I seen lightning when it snowed, I just stood there staring at it! Anyway, I think you did just fine with the illo. Thank you again for taking the time and trouble to color it!

Haha, I loved this sketch and also the colored version. I still like the concept of this! Makes me grin every time. Sitting here with 37°C (98° F) sure makes me wish to dance in the rain...

I was thinking the exact same thing, yesterday evening, Treefox. Except next to the rain there was also lightning, so I decided not to do it. ;)
Jealous of Amberfox in this picture now...

And it didn't cool down right? Pfff... however, as Final Quest has also taught us, better not dance during a thunderstorm. ;)
Luckily, while I work in hot hot Frankfurt, at least I live up high, so it cools down a little bit in the evening.
Looks like it will get better next week! Amberfox and Berit, sorry for spamming this thread.

Amberfox: I've also read somewhere that thing about tornadoes, here we don't get them so I don't know what the colored sky looks like, though it might be something slightly similar than the coloring here sometimes, but here it's not really threatening or anything, it simply makes everything look as if had a nice yellow glow to it... here hale storms during summer are more ominous, it often means a powerful thunderstorm is headed your way... and it means really powerful with winds that might fell large areas of forests from it path... nothing as powerful as a tornado though! but might be powerful enough to rip roofs off buildings...

Treefox: I don't mind the spamming, it's just interesting to see what people talk about! those weathers over there! I would have died! it's only 27°C here and I feel like a zombie!... man, we should make a Forum post where we share pictures of what things look near our home! I'd really like to see that! I might start one in the chit chat section... so everyone interested, come and join the fun!...
