SeSa 2014 Fadestar
by Emberra
This was my secret santa contribution to the owner of Fadestar on Rivertwine. In comparison to older works I'm getting better, still learning though.

Aw, she's lovely, and I'm sure Linda will love it (if she hasn't said so already). Don't worry about "learning" or "getting better." We all started somewhere and it's a matter of personal preference as to "skill." If you'd like, I would suggest three things for this illo and future ones as well. First, you have some wonderful dramatic shading on the body but not so much on the face. I'm guilty of this myself. A little more highlights and shadowing to the face would really compliment her even more. The second is that the left eye to the viewer is a little higher than the right; not a terrible distraction, but something to consider. Lastly, I myself have issues with drawing noses, so I'm not sure how helpful my advice could be here, but the definition of the nose bridge might look a little better not arcing as strongly to the nose tip. Perhaps arcing inward then back out with a little more outline for the nose tip itself. Again, just thoughts. Best thing to do if you want to learn other techniques is to look at others' art and see what you can incorporate and play with it for yourself. See what you like, what works best for you, and make changes should you feel you need to. Keep up the great work and I look foward to seeing more from you!

I like the design a lot. Really dig the turtle neck outfit. It looks warm and comfortable.
