I did this a few months ago. Naturally, I was happy with it when I did it, not so much now. Still, I thought it would be fun to have Marut meet up with Amberfox...and what would that be like? Well, Amberfox enjoys dancing, especially in the rain no matter the strength of the storm but I would think Marut would have a little more sense than that. Amberfox is just being himself, having a good time no matter the circumstances, and Marut is a little baffled by it. I don't k now...maybe Marut might join in on the dance. If so, I'll just have to do a second illo where he himself lets loose. You know, I still can't get Marut right. Maybe third time's the charm; I'm working on another one with my sELF, Rainforest. Gotta study Berit's art closer as well as Holly's and Mirror's; they all did such a great job on the character. So, Amberfox is my character and Marut is Berit's.

 I think it looks great! Movement and expression. Yeah, dancing in the rain is pretty cool, maybe Marut will understand that after all. I really enjoy Marut's hair, it somehow looks even more impossible than ever. Berit, how does Marut get his hair to look like that? I did some dancing in the storm and rain yesterday while trying to close our barn door.  Enjoyed it, too.

I bet it's grease.
 I think the rain will bounce right of Maruts hair, while Amberfox's flowy locks (= no grease) will be drenched if it keeps pouring like that.

Yeah! it's grease and sweat, he runs so fast that his hair gets blown that way (have a greasy sweaty hair and keep you head out from a car window when it goes fast, for enough time, that'll happen) Marut has sort of a problem with bathing, he doesn't like to put his head underwater, though sometimes he does this and his slight fear on the subject is actually Terra's fault!) but anyway! to the art! YEAH! so nice to see your art about him again! and actually, you got it right, Marut doesn't dance. Marut is in a way very distant person, he likes seeing others have fun (or gets dragged in the fun by others) but he isn't one for dancing. rain doesn't bother him one bit though! HAha! maybe he is afraid that Amberfox will turn out to be like Terra! one is enough for him! It seems Marut doesn't know how to deal with the situation (he gets along with ladies more, but often gets sort of bullied by men), So he is nervous with this new guy!... thank you for drawing this! should draw one about them soon as well!...

Ha ha! I love this -- first, for the movement in Amberfox's pose, and how it's reflected in his clothes and his hair. (But also just, I know how hard it is to settle on a pose for dancing, and I think this works really well.) And second, I love the interaction -- Marut's perplexity is perfect, and the little "?" just slays me.

I, also, enjoy dancing in the rain. It would be so much more fun with Amberfox; his joy is so contagious. What a handsome fellow !

I love dancing in the rain myself and will do so using any ol' excuse. Frankly, the stronger the storm, the better. Tah-Marien, Amberfox would be honored to have you as a dance partner. You realize this gives me an idea for him with Changestone. And thank you for saying he's handsome; I think so! Eregyrn, this may sound strange, but sometime, drawings draw themselves. Amberfox just danced his way onto the paper from my pencil. Love it when that happens. I'm glad it worked out well. I think Amberfox is really trying to encourage Marut to participate, but that "?" is exactly how I saw Marut reacting.

Berit, I'm really glad you approve. I wasn't sure if I had him right; I'm still not happy with it. Anyway, Amberfox is just very friendly and playful, rarely serious in any capacity. That might make Marut cautious, but I'm not certain if he's that similar to Terra...though I think these two would likely get along really well (oh, damn...more ideas brewing). I did read that Marut is tall, so I took a stab at it. Amberfox is extremely tall, 5'11" American standard, so I thought Marut would be maybe around 5'-5'5". Either way, I don't know if that would be cause for concern on Marut's part. Inked the illo of Marut with mysELF, Rainforest; I'm really happy with it at the moment, but poor Rainforest is still in sketch form. It's just been so long since I've drawn her that nothing's looking...right. Anyway, it's great to hear from you again and I'm relieved that you like the illo!
