I'm always interested in learning about other's drawing processes. I'm still learning to block out drawings first, but I still usually just draw something, and if I don't like it, start again. If not interesting, it might at least provide an embarrassed chuckle.

This is Snowfall from River Twine. Her CIS says her look is kind of intimidating and she's supposed to be kind of hard to read, so I tried to get that in the first picture, but I didn't really like the face. Neither did her player, so I ended up redoing it.

I remember this one.  I used it as a reference for my character outline of Snowfall.  The redraw IS wonderful.  Widening the forehead is just exactly EQ.   And I do love this character because of her coloring.

Good job JEB.  You look like you had less trouble with the braid than I did.

I also think the redraw is a big improvement. The face is balanced so much better and the braid is indeed drawn wonderfully. Nice action shot, too!

The face in the sketch is off because the eyes are not on the same plane as her nose and lips; it's off balance as a result. That said, I do like her features a lot in the sketch. The action shot is really good in both. While the sketch isn't as "action-y" as the final illo, I still like it, especially in the face. So, the final illo versus the original sketch - I have to say I like them both.
