Easysinger's task here is making "travel-cakes", or pemmican -- a ground-up blend of suet, dried meat, and berries. It's kind of the primitive version of high-energy bars. You can find some pemmican recipes by clicking here, if you're REALLY curious. (I have to admit, I'd like to try making it.)
This was the page I did before I realized that I had better work out the words first, so that I was sure they would fit on the page with the art. Thus, this page is more cramped than I'd like, and I know that second word-balloon in the top panel doesn't work very well. (Some have suggested I give it a longer tail, or something, to help make clear it goes to Easysinger.)
(Note: I got admin permission to post 6 pages at once; this is an exception, as this 6-page story wasn't really meant to be broken up.)

But it's still looks lovely. Easysinger is so beautiful and she looks so gentle.
I would like to try out those travel-cakes. Moose or caribou might be hard to get here, though. I am not so sure what rendered fat is... |
