How to play Elfquest the video game, the imaginary RPG for PlayStation
Goal of the game is, to reach the Palace.
On your way you pass Human settlings and Troll Hideouts. Also you meet other elves on your way.
You are allowed to choose 10 characters for a battle. They can be changed before every new Battle, not in the Battle! On the Field, for example.
Each charakter has his own Lifebar, called HP (health points). It’s green and shows you, how many life you have left. If it runs out, the Character will be dead. Literally.
Under that is the Bar for Combo Attack. It’s pink. This one must be loaded during the fight. You can take the gained amount of that bar into the next fight, to fill it completly. It fills itself after every action. Even if the character skips the round. After it is filled, it is possible, to choose another Character, who has also a full Combobar. The filled Bar is illuminated in pink. You can’t choose more than three, for a Combo, sorry folks.
In this Screenshot, Cutter chooses Skywise. Skywise is marked with the pink light to show that he is selected. Leetah can not been selected, for her Combobar isn’t full by now.
Under her Combobar is the Bar for her Magic Ability, which is missing by all non magic elves. It’s blue. After every Magic use, she gets weaker in her powers, till she has rested. How weak is shown by the Magicbar.
All the Players have the option to Attack, even weak Leetah. Disclaimer: she’s a healer, they are seldom strong...^_^
Attack means, you hit the selected Charakter. Attention! You can hit your own folk if you have choosen wrongly!
Combo Attack can only be choosen, if the Bar is filled. This Attack is much stronger than your Attack alone.
Call Healer: You skip a Round to be healed.
Defence: you skip a Round, but get less demage since you protect yourself.
Enemies:
The Enemies have the same Options that you have. Trolls can’t be healed, for they have no Healers. Humans have Medicans, who is half as good as a Healer.
Also all Enemies have the Option to do a Combo, and results nearly everytime in a close to death Attack. So you better Defend yourself, when the Combo Bar of an Enemy is filled. Or kill him, before his turn has come.
None of the elves have the Abillity to run away from a Battle. If they are stuck in a fight, they will do it together. Even if Leetah hasn’t slept, Pike is drunk from Dreamberrys and Treestump has a broken Axe, they will fight.
But what if you enter a Stage with Enemies you know you can’t defeat by now?
You have to be quick. The first Charakter, which is in charge, has the Option to flee only once, right at the beginning. After you checked the Stage, and the time has come to to make the first move, you have to press the Option Flee, and after that, five differently selected Buttons appears, which you have to push in time. They are different every time, so you can’t just learn them by hard.
If you pass, you leave the Stage, if you fail, you have to fight.
After a few Battles your used Characters level up. But they will never be as strong as a Troll, for they are much bigger and stronger, than a little Elf.
So, that’s all, folks. Simple, isn’t it?
Have fun and reach the Palace!

Thank you! They are really cute, you're right. The enemies also - Maybe I took one as an avatar. ^_^
If I could make this kind of game, I would do it. Because I'd love to play it too! |
