Bravo! This is marvelous! Not only is the coloring and artistic execution excellent, the characters seem true to themselves. Treestump surely would be fascinated with a shooting device. I just don't know if Strongbow would appreciate the noise.
 Care to tell us about how you came up with this particular idea? |

EQ facebook "fan friday" was steampunk-themed this week, which seemed sufficient pretext to do "Strongbow with gun"!
The rest of it is in keeping with the Victorian era's love of allegory -- you have Strongbow curious about the new device, and a devil and and angel on either shoulder: Treestump offers unbridled enthusiasm and encouragement for technology, regardless of its purpose, while Pike seeks to distract him toward merrymaking, a more peaceful end. |

This is Great. And you did it in a Week ? Big Wow. The pastel on black paper image is Whimsical. Was it computer or Live ? Really recognizable characters !

First of all, I really am drawn to this image. You used such dramatic lighting and shading to create the mood and atmosphere. Next you used something in photoshop (which I have no clue as to what) to further stress the steampunk idea by making the illo seem like an old photo or crackling oil painting, but quite common in the Victorian Era. Finally, the drawing is just gorgeous and the characters are easily recognizable. I didn't even consider the allegory of Angel Treestump and devil Pike - perfect! I hope you will be posting more of your impressive art soon to this site!
Could just be me, but I can't see Strongbow readily taking up a gun with joy; he seems a bit too set in his ways and likely wouldn't bother until it was almost too late. Love the concept, though! |

Dang! this is awesome! it really is! you can recognize all the characters and I like their expressions! I can only imagine how the tribes fighting against one another setting would be different! I really like this one! I'm going to use this as desktop background if you don't mind!...
