Her hair needs to be fluffier but after pulling an all nighter and working on it for the passed.....

At this point I don't even know....
I'm trying to get into more realistic colorings, getting better!
Original sketch was pencil, this was made on gimp as the original as a base.

Looks pretty! But I can't tell it's Nightfall. IMHO she needs a "marker" that she is herself, and not just some golden-haired elf. IMHO, in the case of this particular picture, she needs her necklace.

I tried adding it in but it looked really weird, then I tried making her eyes the darker, thicker nightfall eyes but in small version it makes her eyes look thinner on the outline. I may fix that, if I get the courage to. Or I'm going to do a different version of this picture... One with original pencil sketches.

There's more things that make Nightfall Nightfall. I think her nose might have the wrong shape, and her chin could be pointier. She also has very defined cheekbones I miss here. I also think her hair could do with a darker shade; she's not this light blond but a dark golden.
I don't know if you still wish to work on this picture, but otherwise I hope you can use these comments! |

I think the main problem is the eyes and hair. The color of her hair in this pic is rather close to her actual eye color in OQ. If you mix her hair and eyes, you'll be closer to her colors.

I'd say that IMHO this pic (which is, to me, a "Darn, almost!") is not irretrievably not-Nightfall, if that makes sense. If you should happen to want to do anything more to the pic, then in addition to the necklace, I think I'd lighten the eyes a little to make them more "golden" (as she is described in the series), and darken the hair a little, to a deep honey shade. Voila, IMHO you'd have an identifiable version of Nightfall. Since her head scarf won't work in this pic, I think she needs the necklace, perhaps in a slightly altered but still identifiable form that would suit the pic better. I think that with every EQ character, there are some visual "markers" that make a pic "definitely them": for example, with Moonshade one marker is her square jaw, with Foxfur it's her absolutely necessary hat, with Shenshen it's her plump cheeks and those two little ponytails, with Longfin it's those two knots in her hair, with Kahvi it's her braids, with Scouter it's that choker he wears, etc.
Hope my comments remain appropriate. I never comment on pics I don't actually like, because why bother. |

Yeah, guys? I know it doesn't look like nightfall. The original sketch and this picture are completely different, the original looks more like her. Because of my practice of realism many of the details were lost in translation. I will redo this but not in realism, more in the comic style.
I appreciate the comments but please, I tried. This is only my second realism picture.... Ever. |

(DestinysGift, you may want to mark the c/c level as lower if you didn't want quite as much feedback.
 The "3" is probably why people went into so much depth.)

Yes, and please bear in mind, that we do like the picture. We don't want to bash your art or anything.
It's a lovely glowing picture, it just doesn't scream "Nightfall!" at us. I hope you know that I really do like to see your art here. |

Its no problem, just seeing comments that pretty much said the same thing was a bit overwhelming. I just wanted people's opinion of what to improve on, not how much it doesn't look like nightfall... But yeah, I appreciate the comments but yeah, I hope you guys could understand.
(To my perspective, this picture seems more rillfisher or rainsong, just change the eyes a bit) |

Because of the title, your first comment to Songflower and the 3C/C, I thought you wanted her to look like Nightfall, that's why I pointed out features that might help get her look right. Sorry if I misunderstood and gave you an awkward feeling.
