This was just a lot of fun to draw.
Starskimmer with baby otter.
The mightning and the pose wassuprisingly easy to do... A combination of colorpencials and Copics. I made the shadngs in blue and green and colored with copis and left the inking of the underwater part away. The effect was quite nice.
What I don't like is the upper part of the background. The flow there is not so well

This is pure awesomeness! I love it when artists take chances and draw something challenging!
The underwater part is really effective. The difference between above water and underwater reads perfectly even as an small thumbnail (by the way, still "reading" when tiny is one of the best ways to see if your composition works). You may not like the upper part of the background, but I think it has a nice echo of the shapes in the underwater part. One of the overlooked elements of composition is repeating elements to create rhythm. You've got that going on here quite nicely! |

I so agree! The color choices are so awesome. I love the cooler greens and blue, it makes this feel like it really would be in a forest. I also don't find the background bad at all. The out-of-water-part just takes up a third of the picture while the water takes all the focus, as I feel it should. The shape of grass really helps to focus on the elves in the center.

I miss a blushing smily here
![]() Thank you guys so much:) I am really happt with the outcomeof this, yes. What I meant about the background is not that it's all bad. But if you take a closer look, there is some green and blue that don't fade into each other smoothly. Around Starskimmer's head. I wanted to make that smoother but kinda failed there ![]() That is nitpicking but I see it each time when I look at it. curse of the artist I guess... |

I adore water scenes and this one was done so well. The fanned hair, the weighlessness, the slight murkiness. I see what you mean about the blending, but still, well done!

I was going to agree with Windrider completely here. I actually think the juxtaposition between the "upper" and "lower" halves is really well done. The top section isn't supposed to be so flowy anyway.
