Lispel at the beach
by Afke
Part of a series I started; A4 sized pictures of my Zilte Muzen characters with colorful background done in copic markers.
This is Lispel. I really needed to make a decent picture of him after the timejump, show he looks older but is basically still the same guy. Finally succeeded. His friend Rammer is in the back, fishing.
I don't really like the color of the water, I think it should be darker at some places, and half sandcolored near the edge with the sand. But I do like the shadows of the wooden beams reflecting, and the dunes.

I really like how you've put all focus on him. "Fading" the background makes it look almost like a photo, even though it's painted. Very clever touch, I don't think I've ever thought of doing that.

I agree with Larialoyla, the fadeout is a very neat and a very clever solution to bring focus to the character of interest. And I agree with you, too, the reflection of the wooden pillars look very nice, you did those superbly. And I love how you managed the background, especially the grass and plants against the sands. Well done!
