Sticks and stones working together

After the sketch fest prompt "sticks and stones".
I though of Turf and Lispel when I read this -- they are my problemsolvers, and somehow I saw Turf as stone (strength) and Lispel as stick (brains). The picture shows something they'd solve using sticks and stones...

Ah, I love it! So clever! With a long enough lever and a stable fulcrum, they can move the world!
I've been going through your gallery looking for character reference, and falling in love with all your characters and the world they move in. Your trolls are people, not jokes and exceptions! All your elves are doing interesting things, even if it's just 'having thoughts' at the moment! You clearly know how to pick and use reference, matching your lighting of the characters to the lighting of the scene... I'm going to have fun just exploring. |

Most of these "newer" pictures are from after I closed my holt, so there was no longer a forum to write stories on (or time in my life for doing that), so I wanted to tell about their new lives and relationships using pictures. Also at some point I was just bored with ordinary portraits.  I had my first troll character in 2000. They've been present ever since. I also drew a whole lot of trolls for holts that had them, even if I wasn't a member, because most fans back then didn't draw trolls (so happy to see that has changed!). When redesigning the Zonnemeer and Zomerbron holts I felt it was about time I had a holt in which they were tribesmates, actual characters in stead of just traders or enemies. All of them are basically refugees. |
