Cold Hands

Characters // Oaktale & Nightowl
Holt // Twin Peaks Holt
My new lady character and her lifemate. They're pretty "new", having Recognized only 10 years ago and are currently raising their 8-year-old son, who's starting to show rock-shaping abilities.
Yep, got the work cut out for 'em!
P.S. I still hate drawing elf ears from an angle - I can never get 'em right when they're seen from behind

It's never easy drawing characters from that angle, but I think you've done a great job with it. As for the ear, maybe a bit of shading to indicate it's angling toward the head will give it a bit more depth. These two are a lovely couple, and are quite happy...and headed for some privacy in a moment. I really like the soft shading you do; do you use mostly pencil or what medium do you use? I'm not sure what it is, but I can't help but think Nightowl's nose is a little off, maybe a little flat to the angle of his head?

Pencils all the way, for the traditional work. Sorry I took so long responding. I use a 0.5 mm pencil to sketch and draw and then regular pencils raging from 6B to HB - also, lately I've started using a 2B Monolith pencil for the actual shading part.
As for Nightowl's nose, it might very well be. It was described to me as a round button-nose, which I haven't really tried drawing before, so I most likely messed it up ![]() |
