Truecry
by Razzle
Originally created by me for BlackHawk's Hunt, an ElfQuest RPG that may or may not still exist, Truecry is also now one of the characters for my to-be-written fanfic, The Wayfarers. Sorry for the hideous scan. This was drawn and scanned in a few years back.
He's named Truecry because he can imitate a lot of different wild-animal calls really well. He's a hunter/tracker. He is a Wolfrider, but starts out in the fanfic living amongst Plainsrunners.

I like how you've put so much work in his hair; it looks messy and specifically knotted at the same time. Works well with his plainsrunner background I think, enough room to let your hair grow and not getting it stuck in branches like in the forest, but not wanting it to get in the way. Or I'm looking at this wrong and you meant it to be a braid; in that case I'm gonna give you the tip that helped me! Make a real braid and look closely at the pattern. Try repeating it on paper a few times, until you can recreate it without having to check the example. Hope this helps!

Yup, supposed to be a braid. That's a really useful tip! Of course, I'm afraid that after years of braiding my mom's hair, the lack is in the *rendering* on paper, rather than the not-knowing-how-it-looks -- but I'm still going to give it a try! =D

Lol, I thought that too until I discovered the pattern. Try using laces, you'll get a cleaner pattern than from hair.
