Another one for this sketch meme, turned into a little bit more than a sketch. Dreamflight's from Rivertwine Holt, this picture is for Leonie.
I was pretty pleased with this picture until I realised her wolf was supposed to be black, and then all went wrong.
I don't think the wolf's style really matches with the elf.

Her expression is so beautiful. I want to cuddle up into a wolf's fur like that. I guess I would just be as happy. It's rather difficult to draw the wolf-riding. This looks just right.

I've decided I could also use this picture for the 100 themes list as "Heaven"...
It took me some time to figure out where and how she should sit on the wolf. I didn't want her legs to bother the wolf's especially while running. I took a look at some wolfriding pictures Wendy made, but still decided to place the legs higher up. I also made the elf smaller/the wolf bigger. |

I definitely think she looks about "right" sized -- she's on the small end for a wolfrider, anyway.

I also like her expression, she looks so happy and peaceful, even though the wolf is running, she really trusts and loves the wolf... and yeah, Wolfriding is actually very hard to draw!...

I keep coming back to this image, it makes me so happy. You've captured the special bond of love and trust which can happen between a critter and an elf (human too.) Despite you think that the wolf was destroyed by turning the fur black, I think you did fine anyway. You can see the fur texture, and the muscles coming through.
And yeah, I think Heaven s pretty close to the jibes which comes through here. |
