In Shadow Vale Holt, there is a faction much like Blue Mountain called The Eyrian. In order to bond with the giant birds, leave the mountain, hunt, explore, or fight, you MUST be a glider. All others are considered "Groundlings" and must remain in the Mountain. No matter what abilities they may otherwise have, "Groundlings" tend to be regarded with disdain and considered somehow inferior. Crystalhold (Rachel Bebber) is one of the most powerful rockshapers, and yet, she is taken for granted. She yearns to fly and explore, but is denied. She watches the privileged gliders, Azurite (Krissy Hutson), Kylren (?), and Greyhaven (Rachel Bebber) with seething envy. An old illo, but it still works.
